  4. FANTAZMIC! Thats a mixture of Fantastic and ....
  5. Cadence is debatable, whatever suits you is good. Most people are in the 80-100rpm band.
  6. As a tabla player & drummer I can say that I tap my fingers' date=' pop / thump my thumb and slide my palm... Ask around, it can get annoying quickly.[/quote'] In all fairness, drummers are freaks of human movement. How anyone can rub there tummy and pat their head is beyond me. No wonder you like campag... LOL
  7. Looks awesome! Loving that seatpost!
  8. Put your hand on the table... Do you tap your thumb or your fingers...? Thumb shift makes no sense to me
  9. SRAM Red, with Shimano Dura-ace chain & cassette. Having ridden all three: Campag, Shimano & now SRAM, SRAM for ME, is honestly, in a league of it's own.
  10. yip, I've got a Selle Italia SLR Kit Carbon. Supposed to weigh 120g, but actually weighs 142g. Every one I weighed was over 140g Unbeleivably comfotable for ME. I wouldn't use any other saddle. Retails at Cyclelab for about R2500, Chris Willemse has them for about R2000
  11. Well... actually... The parts were weighed as being installed so, they would have had grease etc in them already. Or I weighed the bike, fitted something, then weighed again to get the difference. If you look through one of my previous post where the weight are listed. I said I didnt actually weigh the frame (marked with an asterix), and the frame was calculated from the total weight from a standing scale. This would allow for any anomyLIES...
  12. LOL ja I know' date=' Sitting at 6730g, and wanna be in the 6.6's, and 5grammes is 5grammes hey... I prefer a more agressive drop so all good. I'm not that much of a weightweenie though , I mean there are much lighter options that I didnt go for. My dream bike was a good combination of performance, quality, style & relatively lightweight, and after having ridden this baby, and comments from other people that have ridden it - I like to think I have achived that. Thanks to everyone for the comments, I really appreciate it.
  13. I might have other fork options in mind, and if I were this one cut it more, I wouldn't be able to sell it...
  14. LOL Thanks everyone! Waynedude, Slowtwitch: The Felt frame geometry is very aggressive, see the 'side-on' pics previously posted. Therefore the steerer tube is already cut to under 200mm and it still sticks out the top of the stem. If I cut it more I'll save about 5-10g, and the fork will only be able to be used with this bike (it'll be too short to use elsewhere...) Astana: No, I dont play games with my tubulars - races only! I train on Easton EA50's with Continental GP4000's - these wheels are one of my best purchases.
  15. Get hold of Crown Cycles in Cape Town, dont think anyone can beat their prices on Scott Bicycles. 021-671 6382 Speak to Garycarlo_sg2009-03-26 02:22:37
  16. I know two of the cyclelab juniors bought Tarmac's recently and both cracked in the same place, just above the BB.
  17. I reluctantly decided to change the ITM K-Sword Bars and Stem. I updated my bike with the ZIPP SL bar (42cm - Ergobend) and a matching ZIPP 145 Stem (100mm) The bar is a feather-light 170g and the stem was 152g http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll253/carlo_sg/IMG_0825.jpg http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll253/carlo_sg/IMG_0826.jpg http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll253/carlo_sg/IMG_0827.jpg http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll253/carlo_sg/IMG_0829.jpg
  18. 6.7kg... pics to follow shortly
  19. I know two of the cyclelab juniors bought Specialized road bikes, and both of them cracked at the BB. The new Giants have also been cracking, and I think there was a recall. I'll find the article and post it. Good luck...
  20. Very interesting, thanks
  21. Johan, I'm in CT and I had mine rebuilt by Richard from Chris Willemse Cycles. I'm pretty sure he only replaced the nipples (I could be wrong), but it wasn't that expensive. After doing this, the wheels gave no more issues. (and it only added 14g per wheel...LOL)
  22. Do yourself a favour and get "regular" nipples. The american classic nipples are aluminium and bond to the spokes and you are going to have endless issues with keeping your wheels true. Rather go to a wheel builder and have him/her replace the nipples with something other than aluminium and you will have a great, reliable wheelset.
