  1. Maybe its a naive view point but this is essentially a forum for people with a common 2-wheel obsession. Isnt the whole point of a cycling community to keep said community cycling? Or is it to make a quick buck off this cycling community? If your choice is the latter then Id say go do that on Scumtree. If you wanna sell YOUR bike bits n bobs great, we always need new/replacement stuff, but if you buy something here with the sole intention of just re-selling it or you sell stolen stuff, you're SO on the wrong site. You are just ripping this community off, plain and simple. They are adding ZERO value and must go.
  2. The solution is to ride weekdays on a POS bike and keep the proper bike for the group rides/weekends.
  3. Ive been keeping my eye on this robot for a while. I first saw it in 2013, could not believe what it is capable of. the way it can jump like a horse is very freaky. But I think the break through in robotics is coming VERY soon with the great strides being made in super light weight future materials and of course Fusion reactors. Think Iron Mans suit, powered by a tiny Fusion reactor. http://www.gizmag.com/boston-dynamics-new-atlas/42007/ http://www.gizmag.com/darpa-atlas-robot/28266/
  4. 11 speed internal electric hub....brake light, headlight, front hub is a gyro for power....oh yes, looks and brains, too sexy. Yes she had a flat....but she was whisked away before I could offer to get my hands on her. lol.
  5. A customer come in yesterday with most likely the sexiest bike I have ever seen in my life. Thank you Mr. J, for completely ruining my idea of what an uber-sexy bike is supposed to look like. I now have to have one.....but obviously can't afford the $5000+ price tag (fyi before tax/import duties and shipping fee's). But anyways she will be the shiny subject of more than a few misty, pedal-obsession dreams..... http://www.thevanillaworkshop.com/speedvagen-urban-racer/ https://gearjunkie.com/vanilla-workshop-bike-urban-racer
  6. I could have done with a big dose of EPO & HGH in that wind yesterday!! hahahahaha
  7. Not so quick on the draw there haters......How about they purposefully put it in there to generate hits/interest/traffic on their site, which it obviously has.....then when someone actually buys the ludicrously priced object...oh sorry it was a mistake. We've all seen it on Gumtree/OLX a million times....like posting something as "free" or R10 but then put the "actual" price in 5% Black 0.0025mm Arial Narrow Italics bottom right of the ad.........sounds flaky to me. Im on the side of the consumer here....if someone can get fired for tweeting something on social media, retailers should be held to account for what they put on their websites. If my company advertises a product for Rxx or we quote a product for Rxx we are liable (also morally liable) to honor that price for the customer. The maths is a follows.... (Genuine mistakes + Customer dissatisfaction) x Customer Discounts = Happy Customer

  9. I had a pair of 540's for years (about 6000km) no problems at all. I tried the Candy's on a new bike build and just did not like that "Squishy" feeling, esp. if you have to quickly hook it up a sharp incline. A few times when I've "pulled" hard a cleat came right off the pedal.....Im now back to 540's and love the solid feel to the cleat.
  10. Everyone likes to show off their sexy new bikes or their restored retro fixis and bmx's....now I ask the simple question... Whats the worst bike you've ever owned and why? Whats the worst? MTB, BMX or whatever.....pics are the evidence or it never happened?!?! lol
  11. Someone told me that arson is suspected as some of the fire fighters only get paid if there's a fire......supply and demand I suppose......not sure how true it is.
  12. Like the fact that doping in schools is now a wide-spread, major issue that is just not being a addressed effectively.
  13. Sorry for the late reply.....IMHO I think a lot of rookies and all of us, get into the sport for the love of it, but when it becomes your JOB, it just turns into a whole other monster. (Im sure a few business owners can attest to that....) Kind of like loving cars, and then becoming a car salesman.... As if the the ugly truth is revealed only when you're "in". Plus I just think that doping is as much a part of sport as the lies to cover it up. From the team doctors to the management to the publicists, deny it until proven otherwise is the default statement on social media and the like. Im def. not trying to justify cheating/doping, but at the end of the day its the uncomfortable house guest that is NEVER going to leave....
  14. Imagine you are invited by a pro team to a training camp and by day 2 you cannot keep up cause EVERY morning the squad has "fresh legs" and are in pain. You are running the risk of being sent packing before your career can even start.....what you gonna do? Thats pro sport simple as that. If you wanna make a career of it you have to be able to keep up with the peloton......think about ANY pro sport....even our beloved RUGBY....
