  1. To be fair the bulk of what i had to say , was how good we have it ! Also every single post ever that mentions Tygerberg trails illicits the same response from both Myles and Thermophage ( in particular Termophage - bit like a stuck record) , both of whom spend a lot more time commenting on the Hub than they do on their bikes
  2. Really , thats the level of response , "butthurt". Actually really grateful for the amazing riding we have available around the Cape. You really do seem to miss the point in every way
  3. Reading through the comments and i am reminded of just how lucky we are in CT. Jonkers , Table Mountain , Tygerberg , Welvenpas , Helderberg etc , shuttle days at hellsend , conties and others. A lot of variety of trail and a lot of options and yet!!! To the moaners and keyboard warriors , get out and ride your f*#king bike. Be appreciative of what the land owners make available and try to understand there are many role players to take into account with the likes of the incredible trail network that TMBC has developed over the years. WE HAVE IT REALLY GOOD!
  4. Blackspade is an open mould chinese frame so the bolts are unlikely to be OE specific and are probably available through a bolt supplier. Also for the OP ...expecting a bike shop to specifically have mounting bolts for each and every bike on the market is not reasonable, especially for a bike such as Blackspade of which there are hardly any in the marketplace.
  5. Was just gonna say what @Inked Mountain said, East City Cycles in Harrington Str
  6. Don't do it ....these will be sure to kill off any enthusiasim you might feel for cycling
  7. Actually there are many societies in which racial segregation was enforced to a far larger and more violent degree than SA, just not necassariley legislated to the same degree as SA. Think Australia and the Aboriginies, the States and the many Indian tribes as well as the slave trade in other racial groups. Those are just the highly obvious examples, there are many many more - just details though
  8. I have just gotten the new Swift Ultravox - Amazing !!! Caliper Frameset around 22 and disc frameset about 26 - they also have the Attack ( endurance frame) and it is cheaper than the Ultravox
  9. If you in CPT you should talk to the guys at East City Cycles, they do Pyga and really know their bikes. Also just really nice guys and absolute shredders as well
  10. Not sure about JHB as i havnt been that side for a number of years. From a few years back the guys at Tool-Up Cycles in Midstream and the guys at Trailwolf at the Wolwespriut trail park were definitely the choice shops
  11. The bushing kits are available directley from Rocky Mountain ( Canada ) and can be ordered off their website ( bikes.com ) . Be aware that one should have a LBS that is familiar with these bikes and pivot kits so as to avoid any issues down the line.
  12. This is a great sales pitch but in reality means almost nothing(see original spec clause). Also comparing this to other companies is silly. The occasional warranty passed on an allu frame whose original manufacturing cost is less than a 100$ is very different in implication to warranties passed on frames that cost in excess of a 1000$
  13. Not shifting blame to OP . Stated that it is likely to be setup ( bikeshop issue)
  14. Why do you assume it is an Omnico issue? Its a bent chainring, so more than likely if it is a component issue it will be a Sram or Shimano issue. Besides with the info provided it sounds more bikeshop ( setup ) related. Also in almost every case of a bent chainring it is impact or a bad shift related
  15. There are signs on Conties specifically stating " No Trail Running " amongst a few others like no dogs or fishing etc.
  16. As far i know Csixx dont make chainring bolts, besides chainring bolts normaly snap when they are over torqued. Their chainrings however are great and good value. Stating that their quality is poor because of snapping 2 chainring bolts is a bit of a reach
  17. Not sure what is moer expensive about Csixx.....their main product being chainrings are in general cheaper than Sram / Shimano
  18. So you are there to ride your bike , one would assume at least 15 km, but parking 200m from the resturant is an issue? Your comfort zone is tiny !
  19. Duties on complete bikes is 15% not 50%
  20. Have to agree ....He goes through one brand after another and really hasn't managed to add value to any of them....With so much up and coming and existing talent who do such fantastic jobs for their sponsors, I think this was an incredibly poor signing of a rider that really doesn't embody the brand
