  1. I prefer the all in one stem and bar system, carbon.
  2. It was a Deda stem on a Dogma frame, he was standing on the peddles at the time, went down real hard. Yes torque wrench is required.
  3. My riding partner was chasing me down in a sprint when his stem bolts failed catastrophically at 53km/h and down he went on the tar, broken rib, collar bone and stitches in his elbow and shin, and much pain. Make sure you stick to the manufactures recommendations on the nm torque settings for these critical bolts. They range from 4 to 8 nm depending on the manufacturer specifications.

  6. Once your body has got used to exercise without huge amounts of carbs you will be amazed how for you can ride, I have done 4 hour rides every weekend on low carb protein shakes. And feel fantastic. Oh with a coffee stop in between. But I do believe this eating plan has been the best thing I have ever done as far as being more healthy.
  7. Read the Tim Noaks diet it's very good and introduces you to the New Atkins diet which I started 19 months ago and have never looked back, I am 53 years old and ride with youngsters of 35 and still hold on , the eating plan is brilliant and easy to follow, I lost 14 kg and have tons of energy now, remember to leave out sugar, bread, potatoes and most carbs, it really works.
  8. Don't repair it, buy a new rim, it's not worth it unless you have a brilliant medical aid!
  9. All the best to you guys, show us the flags.
