Anyone?

What would the technical guys recommend over here? Build up a bike or buy a complete one? I'm quite handy when it comes to building bikes and have been doing so all my childhood (cheap BMX and very cheap mountain bikes). When it comes to price and components would it be better off to build one or buy a good used one? Any advise? I am looking for a future downhill bike, either buy or build up?

I am looking to buy my first downhill bike but I dont know what to expect. I usually ride a Large frame road bike. I hear that although i ride a large frame road bike, a medium mountain bike will be easier to handle as a large frame could kinda be gangly and big to flick around. I am 1.9m tall. Is anyone else round about my height and Downhilling? What size bike do you ride? The only thing that worries me about riding a smaller bike is my knees hitting the handlebar, those are painful!! Any good advise will be greatly appreciated!!
