  1. Quick question, do you ride in free ride shorts or cycling shorts.
  2. Me too, please bud. Bwahaha, i'm exactly the same.
  3. Ouch, one of the reasons i want to change, i have a hi profile job and cannot be outof action, but i suppose a fall is a fall, clipped or not, touch wood.
  4. Are you talking about the push pull method, i have always ridden in cleats but never push pull.
  5. Hi Hubbers Need your input again, I cuurently ride with cleats, but find myself not doing or pushing over some fery technical sections as i battle to get out of my pedals quick enough, especially the rough incline sections, i also find the shoes to be very slippery on wet rocks etc, so if i do want to rather run up or over rocks i slip and slide all over, i ride relatively well and ride for the fun of it but dont attempt the very technical section for above reasons, i rode with my Salamons and normal pedals and found myself attempting the more tehnical stuff not always getting through it but one foot down at times and a little push on the ground kept my momentum going, when i go to the local bike shop to ask about shoes with no cleats etc, all i get offered his technical training, as i said , i ride socially not to win, i know there is a option to have both cleated on one side of the pedal and uncleated on the other but sometimes there is no time to change sides, it seems as if you ride without cleats you are frowned upon, oh and specialized have a very cool pair of uncleted riding shoes, do i but them and use down hill pedals. Please help Chaps..

  10. Hi All Thanks for the comments will try and put it all together, this is what i think i am going to do, I still have the old bars, so i will cut them to 550mm, I will put my old stem back on ( 75mm) push my seat back to a more centered position, lift my bars one space higher, lower my seat slightly, ride only with water bottles no camelbak, will warm up as much as possible prior to ride, Take the peak of my helmet, try do as much core work as possible. Thanks again for all the advise. Conrad
  11. Yip, I am behind my pc for about 6hrs a day, I sit on one of those ball chairs ( for about 3 weeks mow), trying everything because I love the sport, will keep pushing on, Thanks for the advise.
  12. I do yes, A mate of mine has a simlar problem, but only gets the pain on one side, he rode the 60km race with me this weekend with out the camelbak and still had the issue, i will try the next one without the camelback, thanks for the advise.
  13. They started before I changed the bike, I would say the seat is about 2-4cm higher than the bars, I had a shorter stem on the bike, when I did the ergo fit he told me to go to a 100mm stem, had to then push the seat forward a bit, also had flat bars and changed to riser bars, but only slight rise, and yes, my natural riding style is slightly bent or quite bent arms, I do try and change positions, i move my shoulders around etc when I ride, I think my problem is core muscle as most people are saying, I cant touch my toes, my hamstrings are very tight, id i try touch my toes it pulss from my hams through my butt up my back.
  14. Thanks for the advise, I'm on a 29er, is it ok to narrow the bars.
  15. Loving the sport, but seriously loosing interest due to the pain. Need help badly.
  16. I do feel relaxed, possibly holding on a bit tighter downhill when im tired.
  17. Dont remember his name, he came to my house with all the goodies, needed to change a few things after he did the fit, a mate of mine did a fit but was different to mine, he rode the bike while being videod, used laser to measure certain things, the guy that i used had all the goodies, all labelled ergo fit etc.
