  2. Dont take checks. Simple. Always wait for any EFT money to show in the bank before giving a product- it slows down the operation BUT it saves you! There's alot of scammers and there's alot of honest people you can still trust just keep to safer processes on money transfers.

  10. I'm in the industry. I agree bike prices has gone up but so has everything else also. Its definately not on to say a retailer is ripping you of because of high prices, most are cutting heavily on markups to make a sale and to just keep head above water. Do some research see what it cost to get stock in a shop and carry real basic running cost- shops arent there to rip cyclist of. Most shop owners do it because of the passion for the sport. There are much are better industries to rip people of and make alot of moola. Why are there so many shops closing the doors if they were making alot of money? Maybe rather say thank you the next time for service or free knowledge gained from a cycle shop.. If your not happy with the service from a particular shop move on and get one thats good at what they're doing.. Support local it will only make things better for both parties.Mercx2009-04-09 04:00:57

  14. So should I start this or not?
  15. I have a bike shop. And no I'm definately not trying to avoid paying for a banner ad. Just a proposal idea where hubbers would also a benefit out of it. I do agree the Hub has cost they have to cover but I also see this as a marketing opportunity for the hub attracting more people and in turn getting to ask more for advertising rates therefore covering cost easier. To get this going nicely it has to be run in the format of a club. I suggest the people who has been the longest on the hub and have been involved in some organising for the hub should be in the position to guide this. I remember a quite a while ago someone posted about a guy who was in George running a cycling acadamy, he had no job and no funding but was doing it for the love of it and he's wife supported them.. Was really inspiring to help such a guy! Support would be better on a running base.. not just a once of amount.
  16. So you are saying if the hub has a fund for these kind of things, it would affect the hub negatively?
  17. What bank would be best for opening a fund account?
  18. Ok plastic ears from Phonak. Who does most of the organising on the hub?
  19. Ears are not needed for cycling
  20. All hubbers I have an idea for supporting THEHUBSA and in return hopefully more Hub deals.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> For every deal I do on the Hub I?m willing to pay a certain % to a THEHUBSA fund working on a sliding scale. The HUBSA fund can be used for (Just a few ideas): Any THEHUBSA Rides. Helping a hubber out when in need- only if the majority agrees, so if you need a bike wash/ Sunglasses- It?s not in need... In need = I crashed on a corner and lost my left ear but want to continue cycling so I need new handlebars. Supporting talent on the hub. Hubber support at races. Start a THEHUBSA team in the very very long run when funds are saved. Hub year end function. Hub monthly prizes. Etc. We can all ad to this list make a poll and vote to what?s the most important. How deals will work: Hubber sends me a PM asking for price on a product- I send awesome hubber price. Hubber says: I want it! Invoice send by email, product money paid. Product received by Hubber- Hub fund money paid into fund account that I will open if everyone thinks it?s a good idea to do this. -I?m also willing to give 10% discount to all Hubbers doing a deal on the net. -For a reference deal clinched I?ll give 50% of the deal fund money to the Hubber who referred me, other 50% to the Hub fund. On deals below R5000= 4% to THEHUBSA fund R5000-R9 999= 3.5% R10000-R24 999= 1.6% R25000-R150 000= 1.2% Please let me know what you guys think? Think of it in a positive cycling attitude.
  21. Who'd be interested in this? http://www.geekiegadgets.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/cerevellum_bike.jpg Cerevellum is your newest Gizmo for your ride.
