PPA no thank you. last time I did PPA event I had to start at the back and did not get a result because Im not a member.

I like to see it this way. The main purpose of the event is fundraising and I was there for some fun. I did have fun, suffered but had fun. The best part for me, the wrong decent we end up on, was a blast and I would not have done it if the route was correct.

Also keep in mind people its has been a dry and I expect it to be very very dusty. So bring what you need to deal dust.

Just 2c on chain cleaning. I also had a chain the did not last very long but now have theory around it. I clean it with degreaser after every ride. Now this on its own is maybe not a problem but think in the past I did not flush out all degreaser always and as result the lube gets compromised as soon as applied. Also what conditions you ride in plays big factor. Me for example ride Jonkershoek and helderberg lots and lately is very loose and full of powder dust that gets in EVERYWHERE. Have read before that in conditions like this you could expect faster chain wear. just some thoughts

I agree with most comments above. invest in good chain and chain checker. Clean chain clean and lubed and cassette should last long

Just side note. The 11sp crank is asymmetric bolt pattern. Yes there are number of rings out for it but you will find rings for 10sp xt crank easier. Also have not confirmed it yet but think the 10sp xt crank is lighter than the 11sp crank

Cant help to wonder how much of the money gained must be spend on repairs because of damage the event did.... Thy keep using the newest trails which is not bed in properly yet and as result gets destroyed by the high volume of an event.

Hello. I have a friend who easton freehub is bit toast. Now give no current agents and that easton part normal expensive i was wondering if any other brands freehub is compatible. The some of the novatec freehub looks very very similar if not he same. Have anyone tried novatec freehub in easton M1 hub?

IIRC some of namgear is bio-degradable. There might be others as well. You will have to go do some research
