  1. Excellent look forward to doing it again! Last time was a huge hassle getting the bike down to Montagu. Anyone know if there are courier options for Eroica?
  2. My son has rowing this weekend. I was thinking of taking my MTB and riding around the Roodeplat area instead of sitting around waiting. Coming from JHB, I have no idea if it's safe around there? Can any Pretoria guys confirm ?
  3. Login in to discovery and try this link. Most apple watch issues are sorted with this. https://www.discovery.co.za/discovery_coza/web/linked_content/pdfs/vitality/apple_watch/apple_watch_linking_and_syncing_guide.pdf
  4. The original bike was R1800. The brooks saddle cost more than that. Spray job on the frame about R700, drive set and shifters about R1000 from mean machine, handle bars, levers and table from whippet about R1500. The real investment was time. The hand stitching on the leather was 5 hours alone and had to be repeated because of the *** job I did the first time. At my hourly rate it's worth more than a Dogma
  5. The rims are standard. Stainless steel with some pattern on the sides. The don't stop very well but the sure look pretty
  6. The pedals were what I had around, I needed to be mobile for Eroica. I found the perfect set of 80's toe clips today at mean machine. They will be fitted shortly.
  7. Saddle bag was made by a local guy. Any comments or suggestions welcome!
  8. I also got the red cable from Whippet. side view of the handle bar showing the cable
  9. This is a side view of the fork. I found the sticker kit on eBay What vintage restore would be complete without a brooks saddle.
  10. This is the results of my project over the last year or so. The donor bike was found on gumtree. Its a 1974 Peugeot U08. This is the overall bike. I chose these pursuit type bars (from Whippet). I did the leather bar covers and hand stitching myself What sold me on the original bike was the Peugeot head stem logo and the Mafak centre pull brakes.
  11. I kind of inherited it from someone who emigrated so cant tell you what they are worth. PM me if you're interested. I'll send some pictures and dimensions so you can decide about getting one made up or buying.
  12. Awesome thanks for the advice!
  13. I have a soft luggage type bag I use for shipping my bike for occasional trips from JHB to CT. I have experienced damage before so now spend an inordinate amount of time bubble wrapping the bike and then putting it in the soft bag. I want to look at alternatives but can't justify R4000 on a hard box for only very occasional use. On my last trip I saw some guys shipping their bikes in cardboard boxes that seemed to hold up quite well. Does anyone know where to get these? Any other suggestions would be welcome.
