  1. I want to set it up for the missus, as doubles are too strong for her and she wants to be able to make coffee for herself using the machine (Rocket Appartamento) My double basket that came with the Rocket curves at the bottom, where the "triple" basket is straight (it came with the naked PF). I will try the single basket this evening and see how that goes.
  2. I have a question: What is your recipe to produce a single shot espresso? I'm currently making doubles using 18g and it fills 60ml in about 28seconds. So that is fine and I am not adjusting anything on the grinder, only the weight of the coffee when I try to make a single. When I use 10g for a single it fills 40+ml in 20seconds. Should it reach 30ml in half the time of a double? To give more background, I've tried this using a triple basket in a naked PF and a double basket in a double sprout PF, the triple basket was quicker than the double basket. I am yet to use a single basket, but was wondering about the theory behind it before I try a single basket later today. Does the amount of "open space" between the coffee and the shower screen play a role?
  3. Just did a quick search and it seems that K-Edge have a 35mm version http://k-edge.com/shop/computer-mounts/wahoo-elemnt-mounts/wahoo-elemnt-mount/ http://sport.takealot.com/sport-k-edge-wahoo-elemnt-pro-mount/PLID43828686 https://www.buycycle.co.za/mountain-bike/accessories/k-edge-wahoo-elemnt-pro-mount/ For both Takealot and Buycycle, it seems they don't provide the option, but according to the original K-Edge website there should be the option between 31.8mm and 33mm
  4. Purchased a new grinder and a scale. I have an idea that for me the coffee journey became more serious now. Now I just need a small note book to take notes and keep track of my changes in my search for a proper cup.
  5. My wife gave me the same book for Christmas, must say, really enjoyed it. There is a lot of information regarding the different origins of coffee, which I didn't really read in depth, but the other information was really interesting. I have a really nice brewing guide book from Clive coffee that Yuppiechef use to sell. Have a look at their website for more info https://clivecoffee.com/category/brewing-guides/ Stumptown also have a good brew guide section on their website: https://www.stumptowncoffee.com/brew-guides
  6. The price jump is too big, I am looking something proper for my current situation (aeropress and frenchpress), when I have a espresso machine setup, I will consider upgrading, but this is at least two years away.
  7. Opinions on the Baratza Encore? Will only be used for Aeropress and French press until I move back to SA in about two years, when I will start looking at a decent espresso machine.
  8. I've seen @home selling them in the past. That is where I got mine from.

  10. Just found this and translated it from Norwegian I believe. Noise Kickr Snap is clearly quieter than its more expensive big brother Kickr; it marked both the low and high intensity. With a decibel meter app on iPhone and roll placed on a thin Tacx floor mat - on a plain wooden floor - I measured the noise to 54-56 decibels with Kickr Snap when I walked round 300 watts, whereas conventional Kickr measured at 58-62 decibels at the same intensity. Kickr Snap is therefore quieter than big brother Kickr, Tacx Satori, BKOOL and Kurt Kinetic Rock N Roll, and in line with the Tacx Bushido. http://www.landevei.no/Tester/Utstyr/TEST-WAHOO-KICKR-SNAP
  11. How do you find the noise/vibrations of the Snap? I am in the market for one and living in an apartment with wooden floors, that plays a big role for me. So would also appreciate a review once you've used it for a few days or weeks.
