  1. Eish, sorry to hear about the aches & pains. Hope you get over it soon. I can empathise. The better half & I had a couples massage this afternoon - it started as a massage followed by a body scrub (with coarse salt) - was great until she got to the place where the teeth on the pedals had 'bitten' my shin yesterday. It was an eye-opener!
  2. Thanks Richard, I have been following a low-carb, high protein diet, wondering how I should replenish on those long rides. I was planning to take some protein bars along.
  3. Some other reference material that I found interesting is 'Why we get fat' by Gary Taubes. Good insight into how what we eat transates into at the cellular level and the interaction with insulin and other hormones.
  4. Great to hear from those who enjoyed the ride - sorry I had to bail at the last moment. I forgot it was a couples massage for our anniversary scheduled for this afternoon.

  13. Hi Dopplelganger - hopefully next time. Just meet us at the coffee shop from 7am so we're ready to go by 7:15. Do you know where NF is? Else follow these directions (courtesy of Green Bean): Directions: Take Cedar Road (R562) past Broadacres Shopping Centre and Chartwell to the T-junction at the end of Cedar Road. Turn right onto the R114 to Diepsloot, cross the Jukskei River at Heron Bridge and drive for +- 2.7km. Turn left at the two big white walls with a small sign that says “Northern Farm”. GPS Coordinates: S25.93526 E27.98475 Amended co-ordinates to the Coffe Shop area Took the reading off my GPS on Sunday

  17. So..... what we doing next weekend, huh? I've done 2 rides at NF and they were awesome, must have another ride next Saturday - can't wait, I'm like a meerkat on amphetamines (anyone suggests ADD, ADHD or similar will be dealt with severely)
  18. It was a great ride, we had fun Thanks Skandelis & Warrior Princess. PS - Never trust Skandelis when he hangs back and says 'Please, you go through the river first'
  19. Not a single guy here would dare answer that one
  20. Geez sidewinder. first you crash at NF, then your helmet, then a car - are you sure you're not an accident magnet?
