  1. hey guys, i live about 3km away 4rm botha's hill(i go to school at keasney on the top) and i train on this route about 5 times a week... i go up botha's hill sometimes twice a day when i ride to school... now i'm scared... how would you recommend protection from these guys? changing route is not an option...
  2. ???? just averaging over 30kph on a 2 and 1/2 hour ride is impressive... haha i had to laugh when this chick said she averaged 18.4 on a 27km route!! and she was on a carbon road bike...
  3. hey if you've read Lance Armstrong's books, you'll have noticed that he talks alot about sleeping in oxygen tents...and then there's all this stuff about guys at altitude doing better than guys at the coast (like me:) my question is this... why aren't oxygen tents more readily available and why aren't more people using them? are they very expensive?
  4. ya know i understand that, thanks... ... i guess what got to me was my friend phoning me from the epic on day 5 i think and telling me what an awesome ride he had and what a blast it was... oh well, just have to grow up hey?
  5. flip you guys all get so heated about a little touch on the back! relax, we all needed that little bit of encouragement once in our lives... and you might just have scared off a potential major sponsor.... let what few girls there are out there riding, ride!
  6. haha dude do you know me? i think you do.... wierd.... who are you?
  7. thanks guys, that cleared the issue up....
  8. has anyone heard of an airborne frame? i can't seem to find anything about it on the net... supposed to be a hardtail MTB and pretty good...
  9. hey i was just wondering why they have such a high age limit for the epic... 18 years! i know it's hard and everything, but i'm sure most 17 year olds could manage it... my friend who's 16 went down to support his dad did two stage of it consecutively and although he said it was extremely tough, but managable.... i want to do a father son team with my dad but there's a @$# age limit... what are your thoughts?
  10. i race right up there with the pro's often in local races, (i'm currently junior), and even at the top guys seem to think that game is the the way forward... It's R33 for a tin and lasts me a month... and it comes in good flavours...
  11. i got this bike as a team bike and i thought i should just give a quick review for those looking into buying a new road bike of that range... At a first glance, the peleton pro stands out at you as a very beautiful bike, but don't let that deceive you... the real beauty is in the ride. it has a very, very short wheel base which results in quick acceleration and brilliant sprinting snappiness. The bike is kitted out with full ultegra sl, not sram rival as advertised, but it is only 100g heavier then dura-ace:), and shifting/braking is perfect. The only this i don't like is that it comes standard with mavic askuim wheelset and this make for good training wheels, but not suitable for hard racing... it is a very light bike!! it is ideal for climbing and technical descents, but on the long straights it struggles a bit. it comes kitted out with Fizik Arione Saddle, which is very, very attractive... It retails in SA for about R18 000... and was recently featured in Bicycling
