  5. Rookie can you give me directions to ride over ou kaapse weg and into town so that i can meet you for this ride i am staying in glen cairn and dont know another way other than the highway
  6. sandy courses i go less in front but slightly more on the back but in general i keep my pressures about the same a nice benchmark is that when you sit on your bike there should be a decent bulge ast the bottom of your tire but not so much that it feels spongy
  7. That's good to hear - it adds another tyre option. I reckon you could use one of those heat guns that they use for paint stripping instead of a hair dryer. You could but when you really want your sister to move out sooner rather than later her hair dryer works just as well
  8. Moonman i weigh 60 so there is a bit of a weight difference but i found that riding 1.8 on the front and 2.2 at the back is perfect for me i could suggest going a bit less on both but also play around and find that pressure that works for you, if you start too high you will slide around corners instead of turning round them and if they are too soft your tire will roll off P.S. What is a bad week?????
  9. You unstitch it' date=' patch the tube and sew it up again. I found a really nice pictorial article, but forgot to bookmark it. I also found this page that gives a description of the procedure:http://www.sheldonbrown.com/brandt/tubular-repair.htmlThis procedure won't work with GP4000 tubbies since the tyres are not sewn up, but glued in some special way. If you puncture one of those, it looks like you've got no choice but to replace it.[/quote'] Edman the GP4000 tubbies are easier to repair than we originally thought one of my buddies punctured a GP4000 and was not going to replace it because of the cost... so it took us two afternoons to work out how to glue it back but it was not exactly round because the hair dryer cant heat the glue to the right temperature so that the casing melts to it long story short he now uses joes in it and carries flat fix
  10. HOPC i just sent you a pm explaining how to fix one hope it helps you and if it doesnt give me a call if you need clarification
  11. yup verbal diarroea it is but then again i am not the only one to suffer from it will try my best in the future to not be so keyboard happy
  12. Desmond put a bit more sealant in them and go race again my suggestion for on the road though is a sealant called flat fix and works on most latex tubulars dont know what other makes there are but it is a pressurised canister of sealant that pumps your tire and seals punctures at the same time ask at your LBS they will be able to help you or go through to the vittoria stand at argus expo they have a similar product!!
  13. already been posted but it is an initiative by GT called the golden bike and the fastest privateer (in other words dude who doesnt get his stuff sponsored) at pre selected races by GT gets given either a HT Dual susser or free ride bike after the race (all depends on his choice) and our race here is the crater cruise so it is going to be cool to see this
  14. i have been told more than once not to worry about other peoples stupidity so now seriously what was the expectation in this situation especially seein as there was foul language involved???? next time dont train alone dont worry about idiots without lights and dont get into situations where harm can be done again sorry you got hit but there are ways to confront people and then there is the arrogant way that us cyclists get branded with all the time and unfortunately both parties explored the arrogant way in this situation hope that you didnt get too hurt!!
  15. Ah thanks mandibles you really making me jealous this is the part of the race i was looking forward to
  16. Aha now i get it Thanks ronelle P.S. some of us are not too clued up with these shortening of these places!!!
  17. What is Suspi??????
  18. There is no other glasses i will ride in unless i have to the rudy projects are way superior in all situations to even oakleys (yes i did just say that) the transition lenses go completely clear on the rudy's and they do not take longer than a few seconds to go dark either secondly the rudy lenses do not break under impact where as oakleys do and thirdly rudy's fit any type of face thanks to the adjustable nose piece and arms
  19. Sorry to disagree wit hyou DI but Mark is better than Lance He is less arrogant All the Best mark and if you wanna go for a cruise on the MTB during the treatment give me a call i am sure we can organise something!!!!
  20. Hi guys and girls i am going to be down in Cape town for a bit before and after the argus and i am looking for a group of guys and girls to ride with in the mornings in the glen cairn or simonstown area or even noordhoek/fishoek and areas around there you dont have to worry about average speeds and distances i am looking to do about 2 hours every morning just to loosen up the legs before argus and after argus probably go a bit more intense please PM me with details and directions to your ride or altenatively mail me on timmmyturtle@hotmail.com THanks everyone
  21. Svm what time and where are we meeting????
  22. You are part of the furniture there Dobby
  23. Yup thats no doubt about it Anton and Evo are both awesome guys P.S. Anton tell Evo he was damn lucky on sunday and he raced well!!!
  24. THis is common especially for Zipps and mavic cosmic carbons because the valve hole is slightly wider than other wheels i use a toothpick covered in insulation tape to sort this problem out and is less messy than Jmac's idea although it is a good alternative when toothpicks are scarce
