That Gun saved his life! No surprised he left for OZ. This is actually a very sad story, was in West rand Cycles talking to Eben today. Eben "invented" night rides when we used to ride in the mine dumps at night 5 years ago befoe you could buy a serious light. They dont do any night rides anymore after this incident. In fact they found a new area, but it is now "controlled by Nelson Mandelas trust. They arrest you if you ride there. WHAT A f**kED UP PLACE THIS IS REALLY BECOMING

this sort of ilumination is almost pornographic In fact I would go as far as to say deviantly pornographic. We are looking at a bracket to hold 2 Betty's and a Wilma with Helmet mount. We are going to play with short and long throw on the Bettys Then add to it the engineering, we are machining a stem plate to hold the brace of Dirty Betty's Those blackburns and the like may come to good use for rear lights with a red lense cap and a single 5 watt LED. We are looking at that as well.

hI zORGUS I am running Lupine and USE LIghts are one of may favourite topics though.My humble opinion is that currently (this week) the twin led Hope is the best value when all is considered, Brightness, Bat, Charging, mounting(this is my favourite. I would rather have a R3K light and a 1k bike than the other way round when riding at night comuting. There are a lot of Okay lights, but the good ones have got much cheaper even in the last 3 months.

no problem if the sun is still up. Lets face the fact. if you cannot see the benifit of a good light kit you are better off riding in the day. You could always go to the gym session for a spin class, the torch will be handy when you need to find your car if you are running late!

get some real tubless tyres so we dont have to continuously listen to the rambling problems of these conversions

Pickled, they are crap. The light is crap, the chrging is crap and the brackets are crap. ANyone serious at riding after dark needs at least HOPE 2LED(My humble opinion is that this is the entry level, the rest are just torches. check out Chain reaction

Can you remember the story of the MTBer that was shot in Gauteng. He was carrying a gun and he managed to shoot the guy that shot him. The second guy got away though and the MTBer had to run for the road to get help. They charged him for murder if I recall, but he got off. Just trying to work out the most inconspicous method of packing a shotgun,

I darent stop at a red light cause I am worried that somebody will bliksem me. At least if I am riding I am a moving target. If you do shoot anyone, make sure they are dead and empty the mag.

This is the most sense I have seen on the hub for a while. The idea is to get best value at a particular function point. Ultegra is hard to beat. Just as Kycerium elite wheels are hard to beat at 3k. Yes the SL's are better, but for double the money I think not. Mavic 819 hoops are anotehr sweet spot rather than screw around with Stans conversion kits etc. PRICE IS WHAT YOU PAY, VALUE IS WHAT YOU GET!

dont forget if you build a light and spend real money on the bats, you will need to build a proper charger. The Petzl is great for using when you are digging things out your bag on the epic, but it is not an option for racing the Trans Bav or similar Building your own lights will be fun, but I would rather ride more and have fun that way. Unless you have access to serious engineering, it is hard to get the light to work well and look great which is also important. else we would all be dating the fat chick!

ya ya, got blitzed there. My poor customer thought I had run away with his money after I sold him wheels. I couldnt com with him as I was blitzed. Was a bit sudden though, would have at least expected a chance to explain. I note that they also have some weird censorship, I mean the word t**ser is somebody that tosses things, cant see whats wrong with that!
