  1. hi people a quick question. there is a merida reacto road bike with brake calipers at the bottom of the frame..he is also running stages power sensor, after installing the power sensor is hitting the brake caliper......can i do anything wiithout changing the power sensor to a powertap?
  2. Hi everybody i have just relocated from Cape Town to HUmansdorp and am looking for other people so we can start weekend group rides whether road or mtb.... Are there like minded people out there who find trekking all the way out to PE area a bit to far
  3. something i have noticed and that is there are bike shops that take the piss (pardon my french) out of people that they assume don't know any better and rip them off and then blame them for not riding properly. get to know your bike and the components. for an R8000 bike you should be getting components that can shift in muddy conditions,.
  4. the event was better managed than the rollercoaster. i did'nt do the roller coaster but i cycled the route on the day of the race and the performance of traffic police and marshalls was not what we have come to expect from PPA, but the bayside was a lot better. apart from the wind it was a nice race. just a quick question, will the wind be taken into account when considering the difficulty level?
  5. excluding the parts fitted...the service comes down to just that, the service. I am a bike mechanic and particularly when there are races in quick succession and the bike shops get bogged down, it does happen that a bike or two may "slip" through the cracks, it is no excuse i know, but in future, one should check your bike before leaving the store, make the time to do so. i do my best to ensure that every bike i do has been serviced to the best of my ability. i know what my work rate is and i would rather turn away a customer knowing that i may not have time do his bike properly, rather than think of my cash draw. Take the bike back, give them the opportunity to sort it out. if they get stroppy, thank them for their time and go somewhere else or do it yourself then let us know and then tell us who it is.
  6. I am looking forward to the team work between porter and froome next year. porter i think has posed an important question. how fit and strong is he really. remember this year when he turned round fetchd s gel or something and rode back up the froome, seeing that he had made two massice attacks earlier. he really is a strong one.
  7. i am not sure, because there are many riders that are good climbers and time trailers as well. anyway the battles are always in the mountains, it has been ever since the first serious mountain stage was included. the race organises were called assasins, but it changed the way the race was viewed.
  8. hi there, doing the engin dynamic for the first time, can anyone tell me where i can get a profile of the long route, i know there is the climb at riebeek but i have no idea what the last few rolling hills are like towards the end, somebody told me they are like the last three at Die Burger, can anyone help? thanks
  9. hi there...i sell USN, 32Gi and a few other supps too. have tried most of them and found recently that i felt better with 32gi, my energy release was more consistant with my needs. there was no sudden release of energy or anything, but i was able to maintain a better pace and survive on the hills (a big plus as i am not built for big climbs), and towards the last twenty or ten k's to go, a bottle of evox cytovox for the big kick. but 32gi is a really good product. good luck with it.
  10. we be leaving at almost the same time....good luck!!
