  1. I like how when they present the team on social media they have guys like Reinie as leadout and Cav as Sprinter...???? Should read "Hopeful finisher" not "Sprinter"
  2. I hear the timber trail is a must do..can be done over 2 days with accommodation available. Looks amazing!
  3. Public trust building..cnr of great south and greenlane. I gym/ swim at the Olympic pool in New Market once or twice a week during lunch so can meet up for a coffee for sure at some stage.
  4. I work in Greenlane so could join.????

Was watching this last night again..my man Andy attacking with 20km to go..closed down 40seconds on Gilbert in just 2km and dropped him straight away. Ended up winning by more than 1min! Made it look easy..he remains one of the most gifted cyclists ever.

Plus I think the Fleche and Leige organizers are kicking themselves at this stage!! MvdP is hot property right now and to not have him there will be a bit of a let down for most fans!

I see he is doing Amstel..he looks unbeatable. The ease of his win against the top classics specialists yesterday was very impressive.

Will he be lining up at Amstel,Fleche or Leige?

Agree 100% but there is a thin line between making the right call to ensure you able to come back stronger and quitting becoming a habit. The Dnf's in DD has been scary high this season some with reason but mostly unexplained...at some point you would think that just finishing the races becomes something that is required to get them back on track.Very few results..loads and loads of DNF's. Maybe right now they are NOT top marathoners..and should not behave like ones.

Saw this tweet from Race Radio..now This is a story!! Maybe DDD should try and convince their riders to follow this example.. Remember this? Last year Evaldas Siskevicius did everything to finish Paris-Roubaix. He was outside the time limit and had to convince security at the velodrome to open the gates. He finished 9th today

I see it's televised to 180 countries..anybody have stats on the number of people that watch. At the race and Tv coverage?

Philippe Gilbert's palmares: World Champion 2xIl Lombardia Ronde van Vlaanderen Paris-Roubaix Liege-Bastogne-Liege 4xAmstel Gold Race 2xOmloop Het Nieuwsblad 2xBrabantse Pijl 2xParis-Tours Fleche Wallonne Strade Bianche Clasica San Sebastian 9 Grand Tour stages Amazing..makes me think that he now probably is the best classics rider of this generation?? Can't really think of anybody that comes close to that? Valverde ,Tom and Cancelarra probably contenders?

I also have a feeling its going to be Greg's day..he has had a brilliant build up to the race and probably hitting peak form at the right time. But want Wout to win..Jumbo my new favorite team so support then all the way!

    The Classics

Yeah he is very very light for the stones. But I find it interesting that he wants to give it a go..he loves steep short hills and I think he would have tested his ability to go fast on those hills before making a decision. Don't know myself but he does not normally enter n classic without serious ambitions.

Greg,Wout and Stybar for me has been the most consistent in terms of always being up there so form wise I will go with those 3 with Jungels and MvdP as possible options. Personally I hope Wout gets it...

Also very disappointed with what's going on at DDD the last 2 years. Its getting hard to support them and I really want them to do well. However today I have to say was one of the better outings in a while..3 riders in the main sprint pack not bad.Bigger split on the poggio than we have seen for a while so not a lot of teams wanting to work for the sprint.. I do think Reynardt deserves more leadership chances..the way things are going now they might just be surprised if they shift the focus away from the " big" names
  20. Sold my house finally..not an easy thing to do from this side. Ended up with about a -4% real growth. Was a bad pill to swallow but no choice and rather just take it as part of confirmation that we doing the right thing!
  21. I have to say that I am really a bit disappointed in Jacques and Van Zyl..only because I like them both and have had high hopes for them.Van Zyl was brilliant in 2016 but he is now sort of flying under the radar. Then Ryan also not going great and Rynardt struggling like hell to come back from injury.Only Jaco that is really showing himself. Not great right now from our SA boys..but will keep on backing them and hope for something big!
  22. Thats sort of the point...Try and do what the best rider in the world is doing?? You will not find 1 other rider in the top 10 positions of all 3.Louis is probably never going to win a Grand tour..but with some time and the right support structure he can be a top 5 rider. And that will be amazing!
  23. They have had loads of bad luck so lets just hope they pull it back between the tour and vuelta. Loosing O'Connor so close to the finish with him on a good day was just the Cherrie!! Meintjes also not at his best..I beleive he is going to be strong at Vuelta. Not so sure that it was the best plan to line him up for a 3rd straight grand tour at his age? How many gc riders did tdf, vuelta and then Giro?He did 8th then 12th and then had to refocus for Giro?We quick to criticize but in my view that is a big ask..
  24. The wind has been really cold..how much colder will it be mid winter? I take it the big rain is still on its way..
