I see he is doing Amstel..he looks unbeatable. The ease of his win against the top classics specialists yesterday was very impressive.

Will he be lining up at Amstel,Fleche or Leige?

Agree 100% but there is a thin line between making the right call to ensure you able to come back stronger and quitting becoming a habit. The Dnf's in DD has been scary high this season some with reason but mostly unexplained...at some point you would think that just finishing the races becomes something that is required to get them back on track.Very few results..loads and loads of DNF's. Maybe right now they are NOT top marathoners..and should not behave like ones.

Saw this tweet from Race Radio..now This is a story!! Maybe DDD should try and convince their riders to follow this example.. Remember this? Last year Evaldas Siskevicius did everything to finish Paris-Roubaix. He was outside the time limit and had to convince security at the velodrome to open the gates. He finished 9th today

I see it's televised to 180 countries..anybody have stats on the number of people that watch. At the race and Tv coverage?

Philippe Gilbert's palmares: World Champion 2xIl Lombardia Ronde van Vlaanderen Paris-Roubaix Liege-Bastogne-Liege 4xAmstel Gold Race 2xOmloop Het Nieuwsblad 2xBrabantse Pijl 2xParis-Tours Fleche Wallonne Strade Bianche Clasica San Sebastian 9 Grand Tour stages Amazing..makes me think that he now probably is the best classics rider of this generation?? Can't really think of anybody that comes close to that? Valverde ,Tom and Cancelarra probably contenders?

I also have a feeling its going to be Greg's day..he has had a brilliant build up to the race and probably hitting peak form at the right time. But want Wout to win..Jumbo my new favorite team so support then all the way!

Yeah he is very very light for the stones. But I find it interesting that he wants to give it a go..he loves steep short hills and I think he would have tested his ability to go fast on those hills before making a decision. Don't know myself but he does not normally enter n classic without serious ambitions.

Greg,Wout and Stybar for me has been the most consistent in terms of always being up there so form wise I will go with those 3 with Jungels and MvdP as possible options. Personally I hope Wout gets it...
  11. Maybe if she ends up smashing them all even more than last year they might just follow..I am loving the dynamic of the top road rider in the world joined with the top Mtb rider..gives us a good look at the strengths of both. I recon Anna ahead by a small margin given its not her natural discipline??

Also very disappointed with what's going on at DDD the last 2 years. Its getting hard to support them and I really want them to do well. However today I have to say was one of the better outings in a while..3 riders in the main sprint pack not bad.Bigger split on the poggio than we have seen for a while so not a lot of teams wanting to work for the sprint.. I do think Reynardt deserves more leadership chances..the way things are going now they might just be surprised if they shift the focus away from the " big" names
  13. Saw this on Facebook...if this is the rule surely it will only be right that Scott gets a time penalty? Review topic 23.3 of the Cape Epic regulation. Andri Frischknecth could only assist Lars Forster, if his partner Gert Heyns was with him, or if Gert Heyns was out of the race. So the wheel change was uneven. You have to penalize Team Scott
  14. I don't think they will struggle with finding a sponsor big enough.Lets see but I think they will have the right connections to get it done. Would actually not mind if they end up a bit smaller but probably not much will change
  15. Yeah 100% also think there are many levels of " professional" in the peloton still today..no doubt about that. The riders that move between teams a bit has lots of exposure to this and there are many examples of this.Love the stories Cadel told about some of the teams he rode with..did not think spending money on TT equipment was worth it..no training for TTT..no specific weight management. Can just look at Landa this year to see the difference strictly enforced measures make on how a rider perform. Think it was Pinot that said at the end of last year that he decide to spend some time in the wind tunnel and work on his TT position...you would think he would have done that years ago..
  16. Looks like we might have a race for 4th..Fanie and KB.Goooooo Fanie!!

  18. Good to see Massimo and Fanie close together after halfway and up front with the top 5.These 2 has been riding and training together for many years.Sure it will be good for them mentally..
  19. What happened to Frodeno? Sfter his dominant performance at 70.3 I was looking forward to see him race Lange.
  20. #InnsbruckTirol2018 Mens Road Race Result 1 - 61kg 2 - 65kg 3 - 64kg 4 - 69kg 5 - 69kg 6 - 65kg 7 - Valgren ???????????? 8 - 62kg 9 - 63kg 10 - 69kg 11 - 60kg 12 - 64kg 13 - 62kg etc. etc.
  21. Best race of Worlds?? I feel like the mens Junior race was great to watch just because of the outright dominance...same goes to the Woman elite race..just pure dominance. Nail biter for me was obviously the Mens race that came down to the sprint.
  22. Extremely strange yes and this is why I try and avoid any doping related discussion in general.I just love a good race and like everybody have riders I like and support.
  23. Man I am happy today!!!Have been following and supporting Valverde all of his career and after 6 times on the podium to finally get it done is amazing!! Hope he has a great year in the Jersey! To the haters..not that it matters but 2 things to consider maybe. Being consistent the whole year round is kind of the opposite of what you expect from someone that dope..which normally is big highs and lows... Secondly when was the last time he dominated in any race..Valverde wins by a bike lenght or 2...he almost never blows the race part.He wins by waiting and by being tactically better than the rest.... Exceptional bike racer with loads and loads of experience!
  24. Nice to see Jacques in the break..he has been struggling for form a lot this year so good way to close out a difficult year! Course will also suit him so hope he stays out long.
  25. He is lighter than I thought...I am same height as him..and once upon a time I had that weight..but was like for 2 weeks and never again got that low.
