  1. I'm sure after Rust de winter and Cradle Quest the bicycle shops will be smiling with all the replacement parts ordered and services required. I am pretty sure most people will not just stop at Brake Pads, but brake discs, casettes, chains, derailleurs, and bearings would require attention. Should have packed up the bike and started drinking when they anounced a 30 minute delay in the start times.
  2. Damage to my rear brakepads after the 65km ride on Saturday. Both front and back look simlar. Rest of the bicycle doesn't look much better either. Lots has to be raplaced.
  3. "Sasha" - Our German Shepard cross something something puppy about two months ago.
  4. Not too sure how the conversion to 2 stroke will go, hoping that 300cc wil give a big kick in the pants.
  5. Yes I do.
  6. Hahahaha. Hatred... Jealousy.... Same thing.
  7. Arriving Soon...
  8. Hi dirt-rider. I live in Clubview, right where you ride up on the old JHB road to Vorrtrekker monument just before the military base. Perhaps we could arrange sometime that I meet you guys there and join in if you don't mind.
  9. Hi Lapa, Where in centurion are you situated? I am also looking for a training partner(s) preferably stronger than I am. I must admit that I will probably not be able to join guys during the week as I leave for work at 6 in the mornings and only return at about 17:00. But I would love to have a few chaps to train with on weekends at Snake Valley, Groenkloof, Voortekker etc.
  10. So excited for this one as well. Managed to move up from G to C. Hopefully that means no more waiting in queues. Good Luck to everyone.
  11. This one is just around the corner cannot wait. Good luck chaps.
  12. Oki Doki...
  13. Sharing what I've heard...
  14. Apparently when the Sani2C was originally organised it would have started at Sani Pass (not sure where exactly). That year the race experienced a lot of rain, so much so that many "normal" vehicles could not get to the planned start point. The race start was then moved to Underberg School, this worked out well for the race organisers and racers alike, they decided to keep the start at Underberg School. This is from a source that has done the Sani2C eight times now, so I'm sure it is pretty accurate. Oh before I forget:
  15. Hi Lexx, I am so sorry for not sending pics yet. The bike is in pieces and waiting for spares from the suppliers, as soon as I get it back (hopefully tomorrow) I will post a lot of photos. Biggest worry is I have the Nissan Trailseeker race this weekend and the suppliers are battling to get parts for the rear hub. Once again sorry for the delay.
  16. Agreed. The AL529 and the AL529 R-Type are both just under 12kg. But as mentioned earlier by TheV weight shouldn't put you off until you are on par with your weight and when looking for a budget bike.
  17. Hi Lexx, No problem at all, I'll see what I can organise this evening. doppelganger, Hahaha, I'll keep that in mind once I've window shopped this weekend.
  18. Hahaha, I have a Large Frame, cannot remember the inch size off hand though. I wish I could sell the bike, but I will have to keep the Momsen until I find something else. I have to agree, the only two momsen bikes I think are reasonably good looking are the SL range carbon fibres.
  19. I am very happy with it, did over 5000km on it before sending it in for a service. I would just get rid of the Conti tyres on them and replace them with any other tubeless tyre. Only thing i had to get used to was the wide handlebars. The Momsen's seem to have wider handlebars. I think if you hang on a bit though they will be releasing there 2013 models in July / August.
  20. Last year November I also only had a budget in that range ended up buying a Momsen AL329 (R 9,995.00 including tubeless conversion). Although also heavy, I am enjoying it and also completed my first Sani2C Race on it this weekend. Would like to shop around for something new now, thinking of looking at the Full Suspension Focus bikes.
  21. That's not too bad a price, their official website lists it Recommended Retail price @ R 11,500.00. Better specs than most bikes in that price range. Bot like most bikes in that price range still a bit heavy at 13+kg. Does this include tubeless conversion?
  22. Hahahahahaha.....
  23. Actionphoto has a few photos up of 2012 Sani2C. It would obviously take some time to upload all the photos taken, so far more Trail and Adventure have been uploaded, not much Race photos yet.
  24. Entry was about R4,500.00 p/member if I recall correctly.
