If I may... Ahem... On my moab I struggled for a long time to get my V-Breaks to stop just right. In the end, I learned that it is about your Rims, Pads, Cables and Housing. The type of rim and the quality of the rim wall is very important. I discovered the DT Swiss 4.1XR Rim to be a very very good rim. The rim has grooves on the wall, allowing for maximum friction between the pad and the rim. When it comes to cables, the Alligator black cable and housing kit is simply unbeatable. Nothing compares. Then, I tried the Shimano XTR Break blocks... what a waste of money. In the end I tried the BBB's, and man. They worked beautifully! The three compound is great. Not only for stopping power, but alse the shape and texture. Everytime you break, you effectively clean the rims! Just my opinion...
