  1. Ok, well in that case I apologise.
  2. You should be ashamed of yourself! He asked a civil question and you reacted like that. People like you should rather just piss off, the majority of us don't need of appreciate the likes of you!
  3. Sometimes I sit mouth agape at certain comments... People that say real men don't drink should probably "not judge lest yea be judged"
  4. Pretty much how my stepdad did it..
  5. Like all things in life you get extremes...
  6. People do however have an inherent ability to figure out whether they are being ripped off, including the so-called Superrich. People will just vote with their feet if they are not seeing the value. And it will all just come to nought in the end...
  7. Perhaps, but I can tell you now that I can only afford 1% of the things that I would like to do. That's the same for just about everyone.
  8. But is that not the same for life in general. There are many things that I would love to do, but I can't afford it....that's just life. Either consider whether it is worth sacrificing a couple of years of your life to work you arse off, or move on and get over the fact that you can't afford everything...
  9. That might be the case, but also, how many new people has this not attracted to the sport? And the knock-on effects of this? The vast majority of races/events appear affordable to someone with a moderate income.
  10. Just entered the Tuli, and that costs R18 000, however have chatted to guys that have done it before, and they were even willing to pay even more for that. Its all relative and the price is determined by supply and demand. There are enough people to pay that much for it. If the race/tour is to expensive for you, then don't do it and move on....
  11. They are similar to the Amstaff, except that they are about 15kg heavier and more powerful. They also are more chill around other dogs. They won't start a fight, but they will always end it.
  12. Hey Tunariaan, The closest relative to the original english bulldog is the American Bulldog of today. Google them. They are phenominal dogs. I own two of them. The original english bulldog was imported into America in the 1800's, and they continued breeding them in the deep south. Pound for pound nothing can match these guys. 40kg dogs that can leap 10 feet in the air from standing still and once they bite onto something they hold on for ever. I attach a pic of them:
  13. Why are we looking at men's legs?
  14. Maybe he is on this forum!!!?
  15. I know what I would do when setting up that bike for him...
  16. Eagle Owl near Shingwedzi
  17. Hey guys, I have done some research and I recon that I am going to go with a Scott Spark 35 2012. Any views?
  18. And in terms of bike stores, what would you guys recommend? I live near Sandton. I would like to go to a bike store where the guys aren't going to try and flog me something purely because they have the dealership. I am looking for somewhere where they guys will recommend me the best possible without trying to rip me off.
  19. Hi Ceres, Is a R20000 softail as good a bike as a R20000 hardtail keeping in mind all the other non-suspension items, such as gears etc? Or do the benefits of the softail outweigh the other lower quality components?
  20. I will probably go for a 26'er
  21. What is a mid to highish-end hardtail price range? And what brand would a person go for?
  22. Tumbleweed: I plan to pretty much the same kind of rideing after the Tuli, maybe ride every second weekend.... My boss that has done the Epic twice says that he did all his practising on a hardtail and did the race using a softtail and that for the price differential he wouldn't recommend a softail for a newbie. So, as you can see I am a bit confused right now...
  23. I was looking at R20000 for the bike and about R10000 for the rest
  24. Well, they asked if I would like to enter. Seeing that they paying the entry fee I didn't think it to unfair. Scotty: A "know it all" colleague of mine has suggested that in terms of dual suspension, he doesn't even consider dual suspension at that price range due to quality concerns. He says at that price that the bike is more likely to break than anything else...
  25. Hi Guys, I am a total newbie to mountain biking and have been entered by my work to partake in this years Tour de Tuli. I need to start practicing soon and would like some advise on what to buy. Lets start with the bike. My budget is R20 000. What would you guys recommend.
