  3. Thanks. I'm looking for a potential 300 points. If that's possible with HR data only, that's perfect. Thought I'd need all data to get that many.
  4. https://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/marvel-speed-and-cadence-sensor When using rollers/trainer/static bike Anyone know if this or similar gets Vitality points when combined with Garmin HR watch? IE, they'd see the HR effort + 'distance' (SpeedxTime) from this when used on rollers/trainer- should be enough to count?
  5. Any plans for a budget, aluminium version of this?
  6. Apparently bikes/components are 0 duty but incur VAT on declared value +10%. What I can't see is how this applies to USED equipment. Like when importing a NEW laptop, I get that I need to pay VAT/duty etc. When flying in with my used one, I pay nothing...
  7. Cool- is that the same for shipping and flying it with me?
  8. Following on from my rather sad thread.. Search seems unable to find anything on importing bikes- though I can see related topics when browsing Anyway, I've got a well used commuter I'd like to either fly back with me, for around £50 or ship to SA via DHL or similar. What would I be liable for i.t.o import duties/tax for the different methods? https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/132727-crc-duties-with-dhl-what-should-i-be-paying-help/ suggests just VAT (@ what value?) It's not clear how this works for used equipment. I could declare the value of the bike quite low due to visible wear and tear, though the components are in reasonable condition.. Anyone had experience importing used bicycles?
  9. SO, I'm returning from the UK towards the end of the month. I've been commuting daily in London- average is about 10km each way. It'll cost me around £60 to get my bike back to SA. Obviously used, I don't think I'm liable for tax..? I have one of these: http://www.thebikelist.co.uk/pinnacle/cobalt-three-2014 I wasn't in the market for something like this in SA, so I don't recall having seen anything similar around... Those in the know - are hybrids available? Would you think it's reasonable to bring something like this back? I don't have a job yet, so commuting feasibility is unknown.. I reckon I could always flog it on here if needed- if it's a bit unusual it may be worth a bit more. IIRC, it cost me £550 new, as in the above link. I've added SKS mudguards. Otherwise, it's stock.
  10. Newbie here, looking to get a tandem, preferably less than R10k. Second hand is fine (likely mandatory at my price bracket ) Our combined weight will be around 120kg. Anything I need to keep in mind when looking? What shops sell these new? There doesn't seem to be much info available online, and the classifieds/gumtree is pretty sparse too... /For some reason I can't post in the Classifieds Wanted section
