  1. I was with KnobbyMech on this until Saturday, survived 2 small cuts previously but my luck finally ran out. Running the Racing Ralph EVO feels fantastic but carry a tube. It's not if, but rather when, you're going to need it.
  2. Race done - verdict below. Venue & terrain fantastic but lacked atmosphere due to limited number of participants. 75km route needed more single track. Felt like more than half the race was on farm dirt roads. Very tough but enjoyable climb around 25km mark and short but steep near the end. Shorter distances complained of tough, rocky technical finish. Do it again? Yes but not when Magalies Monster is on.
  3. Its not Cyclelab but FPC FPC Paulshoff - Johannesburg 30 May 2012 10am – 4pm Epic Bike Shop - Centurion 31 May 2012 10am – 4pm FPC (Full Performance Cycles) Gift Acres - Pretoria 01 June 2012 10am – 4pm
  4. I don't think they know that there was a problem with the timing. This is the response I received. I am not sure about time discrepancies, Louis, timed at Mabalingwe, I am sure he will be able to assist you."
  5. Hahahaha.....I missed the shortcut I was too far back!
  6. WOW are you a pro? 115km (08h00 start) in just under 5 hours, great job!
  7. That's it then I guess, no update, no acknowledgement and no change. Some riders took a wrong turn, it wasn't their fault and it wasn't the first time and definitely won't be the last time this happened. Add to this 'data issues' and you end up with a unholy mess and a fantastic event that will be remembered for the routing and time-keeping shambles. Oh well, see you there next year or at the Nissan Series.
  8. Results are up but 75km results are a shambles. Mine's out by more than 30mins! Not sure how the results were doctored to reflect the detour but it is clearly not working. I didn't do the extra distance.
  9. I saw Stewart and one of the itec riders carrying, made me feel better!
  10. Day started very badly - woke up late, front flat, missed my start batch, lost 2nd bottle in first 10 km, shifter came loose but only got better and better. Sorted the front, was only the valve, tightened the shifter with help of friendly competitor, saw the lions, didn't fall off, watched leading men from Evans back to Keey fly past and finished 75 in respectable time. Awesome - best race this year!!
  11. Great organisation! Did 75 on Sat and 45 on Sun. Loved it except section thru the conservancy at the end of 75. I thought the route published on Advendurance website was not the route that was used. Can't wait for Mabalingwe!
  12. I saw that gadget but it's R2k more and I'm not sure it is R2k better.
  13. Thanks knersis, will check that belt is included!
  14. I'm giving up with Polar, just cannot get CS200 to pick up speed or distance. Sent it in, took weeks. Worked for 2 weeks and now nothing again. Changed batteries, new magnet etc etc. Service is sloooow. I'm looking at getting the Garmin Forerunner 310XT - am I correct that speed and distance will be measured using GPS and I won't need any sensor/pick-up on the bike? Am I making the right choice? I'm looking for heart rate, distance and ave speed. Your comments are appreciated.
  15. Prize giving was painful, took way too long. Event was well organised, route was not bad but not outstanding.
  16. Completed 60km yesterday, was ok but farmroad was very bumpy and felt like it was into the wind all the way!
