  1. I've heard of a few die hards who already beat you to that one. Spare a thought though for the guy who tattooed the old epic logo on his calf I believe and then the logo changed the next year
  2. Just when we thought the best couldn't get any better...BOOM, Vermaak does a mic drop and exits stage, left! :-D
  3. You hit the finish line after a tough day in the saddle and all you're presented with is a choice of Coke, Coke Light or water...which do you choose and why?

  5. Ummm...yes please!! I'll take it off your hands. Lost a bet and now I'm in the poo... HELP!?!
  6. Yes please...dead keen and raring to go! Insane...but good to go?!
  7. Whether it's lost it's appeal or not...I now need to get my hands on an entry. Guess I have left it to the last minute but this happens when you make stupid bets...and LOSE them. Please DM me if you have an entry into the Epic. In good shape and raring to go...now to convince the Mrs! PB
  8. Would 109km in Stellenbosch be the same as 109km around Killarney Race Track? Are all 10km climbs the same? It's not only the distance and climbing that make a race tough but also the terrain and combination of the stages strung together. Can't comment on Pioneer but Sani2c is like riding on a highway the trails are so "flat". At the end of the day, each to their own surely? I challenge you to 27km in Durbanville and we can chat after about how those legs feel ;-)
  9. Possibly because for most of the pros the season is just about over and so more relaxed?
  10. Nice one! And maybe a few less beers every night/holiday whilst studying and doing all those projects too! To the lad studying so hard: Nothing in life is ever "free"...someone pays for it...heck, you could be paying for one of those 'freebies' the next time you buy a loaf of bread or some milk!
  11. Hi there, I understand the organisers have gone for a really "farmstyle" website with next to no information on it but as an event that's supposedly one of THE best events in the country I'm blown away by the fact that 2 weeks down the line and 5 emails I've not had a single reply confirming substitution, name change or a rider communication email. Surely 2 weeks prior to the event your office should be responding to mails? Especially considering the price one pays for this basic service and no other extras? I get the distinct impression that the Sani2c riders are not a priority to the organisers...? So far not been too impressed with this operation...let's hope they do a better job on event. As for the seeding...guess competing in events like the BC Bike Race or J2C or Cape Epic let alone major events in WC etc don't count for seeding...sounds a little strange to me but ok I'll start at the back of the entire field! Kind Regards #puzzled #confused #disappointed
  12. Suppose there would be a couple of peeps out there bleak that the route is only revealed in October...have you been to one of the charity gala's in the past? I tried to get a charity entry last year at the last minute but unfortunately the race was full. Was pretty disappointed...I think I would try it still though...even if just once! I did the Vigne n Vigne ride on the last day in 2007 and loved it...guess it's nothing like doing 800km or something obscene like that.
  13. Guess you're right on the last minute changes thing but in hindsight I guess the cloak and dagger thing adds to the mystery of the "magical and untamed adventure" They obviously get kicks out of us non Sherlock Holmes types trying to suss them out each year! I'm confused do you really think that they'd start in Lourensford because I though the race finishes there as well?
