Thank's Sunshine! Thought so myself. How many 1 year old bikes are being sold at 40% below the new price? I think it is few and far between. No wonder most sellers don't even get a comment.

Hi all Just wondering. When looking at the classifieds everyday, I'm just wondering what should the cost of as second hand bike be? Should it be 80%, 70% or 50% of a new one? I think that most of the sellers are asking too much. Second hand is second hand! If I have to spend 20k on a hobby/sport, I will buy a new bike and will definitely not pay 19k for a second hand one. What do you guys think? Is it fair to say that a bike loses at least 25% of it's value per year.? Marius

Event Name: Langkloof MTB Challenge When: 26 October 2013 Where: Sportsgrounds, Joubertina, Eastern Cape Category: MTB This will be the first running of the event, which will be a collaberation with the annual Langkloof Bloeiselfees. Artists, stalls, beer tent and lots of entertainment for the whole family. The MTB event will include a 30 km fun ride as well as a 80 km Challenge for the fit. Ek is geen expert, maar dit lyk vir my asof Lance nie alleen die een moet face nie. Ons weet almal dat die sport ongelooflik kompiterend is en dat die Pro's onder groot druk verkeer om te presteer. Die jong manne is onder druk geplaas om te presteer en dus te "dope". Hulle is deur die spanbase en die dokters basies oorreed om te dope en nou moet hulle alleen die "music face". 'n Jong man moet nie voor hierdie keuses geplaas word deur die mense wat hul van leiding en raad moet bedien nie. Ek praat dit nie goed nie, maar dit lyk al meer of die manne nie veel van 'n keuse gehad het nie. Die borge wat ten alle koste prestasie vereis het, kan ook blameer word. Miskiens is daar te veel op die spel en soos met alles "professioneel" word dinge te ver gevoer indien die geld so belangrik raak. Ek dink almal van daardie era moet aanvaar dat hul bygedra het tot die situasie en moet daarvoor verskoning maak, dit agter hulle sit en die sport op 'n nuwe pad plaas, sodat almal betrokke weer met trots kan sê dat fietsry in al sy dissiplinnes, die sport kan wees waarvoor ons almal lief is. I'm 78 Kg's and run 2 at the back and 1.8 in front using hardtail and 2.5 and 2 respectively for softtail. This on Crossmarx.
