  1. hi guys Appologies if this' been asked befor. As I have embraced the lchf way, i have become quite label savvy. Horrified I was the other day to see MSG and wheatflour, corn starch etc etc was acutually added to my favourite biltong and droeƫ wors. Where can I get something with less crap in it. Trying to keep it as clean as possible, in terms of preservatives and other junk. Then I would also, like to know where to get good quality grass fed meat, as the usual suoermarkets dont indicate if i isngrain fed or grass fed. Basically looking for a reputable butcher. I live in the western cape, northern suburbs.

  3. I want to do the epic next year, am a novice, with very moderate fitness level. i want to be a competetive rider. Whats the recomended training program? There are so many, i need advice please!
  4. hi guyp Maybe a a bit off the topic, i ride on water only if it's around 3h or less, but for the longer rides i do a mixture of juice and water. my dillema however, I use a camelback for longer rides, and lately there is a smell/taste like someone emtied a can of doom in it. I use the approved product to clean it and it is not even 2 months old, so replacing it every 2 months is not very cost effective. i have since tried bicarbonate of soda, lemon juice and vinegar on seperate occasions, still no joy. Any advice? It seriously smells/taste awefull and i am sure it cannot be good for you. I also have the brushes to clean out the bag and piping and it is most defenitely not mouldy nor is there any residue. Its like Doom i tell you!
  5. Sorry this has propbably been asked before, where can I get ucan in the western cape?
  6. I must say, I love my morning cuppa, but I started slow and low with my bulletproof coffee. I find that the coconut oil gives it a lovely taste, even allowed me to get rid of my 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, I never would have dreamed! I don't do artificial sweetners, tates yuck and I am sure they cannot be any good for you. I now do cream, coconut oil and milk, if I don't have double cream, I do butter and standard cream. It sort of grows on you. I've found that if I do a bulletproof in the morning I don't really feel like having breakfast. What is the esteemed hubber's opinion about sucralose and xylitol vs other sweetners. There is a lot of hype about it being more 'natural' than the sweetners. Tastes like crap, but I do have to confess, I sometimes have a sugar monster in my tummy and I opt for sucralose rather than sugar, esp with yoghurt. I know I know, rather stay away from it than use it. Are we going to end up in a situation like butter vs margerine, where we will find the real thing is way better than the processed. So 1/2 a teaspoon of sugar or 1/4 teaspoon of sucralose?
  7. Ok so question, appologies if it has been asked before, so I am doing this lchf thing for a couple of weeks, main reason, feeling crap on sugar/starch foods and want to loose some weight. I have seen people in the past have complained about not loosing weight with I think Dale mentioning that the calorie contents of for instance macademias is quite high, ie calorie dense food. Now I have the following problem, I have found that this week that I am hungry, not constantly, but definitely more than in the begining. I am exercising and its going well, get the odd bonk, but seems to be able to get over it. Now as I understand this thing, principle, eat when you are hungry. My carb intake is less than 50g day, but I am concerned with the extra amount of food I have eaten lately, since most of it is quite calorie dense. Will that inhibit my weight loss? Can I continue to eat when hungry? Carb content still under 50g with the extra food, as I am mostly sticking to fatty stuff, like extra bulletproof coffee etc etc.
  8. Will definitely do!
  9. You have to be kidding me!!
  10. Wow what interesting stuff! I am new to this, but this all makes so much sense! So how to educate dietician on this? Pitty my pockets not as deep as Kellogs!
