  1. That's so true. Myself and a couple of friends did a mtb ride from the borderpost @lebombo over Corumana Dam and we came across this shebeen/old hut that had the coldest 2M and Laurentina's I had ever tasted. And there were no town in sight. I think we payed like 110meticals per beer, think its about R20. But I would've gladly payed R50 at that stage, because it was Hot as Hell.
  2. Also love the GS 800. Not to big that I feel intimidated by it. I will also prob commute with it, and use it for some Mozambiquen weekends away with the boys Now I need a big Pannier that can carry beer and ice and keep it cool for long hours
  3. I am also in the market for a Dual-Purpose Bike. I Kinda like the KTM Adventure 1190, but its a Big, Tall Bike. Don't think my feet will even touch the ground when I'm sitting on it..
  4. So jealous. Also in the mood for a lkr road trip.
  5. Bike Licence is easy peasy.. Goodluck and tell us how It went.
  6. I Think I must delete some people of my strava No more Kudo's ha ha ha
  7. Strava is the Devil.... I remember the days when I still wrote my miles I did in my log book. no GPS watch, just a stop watch.
  8. I think I am a little bit to competitive. Whenever I have to rest like today because of illness or injury, and I see my friend's strava profile and the miles he is clocking for comrades is already about 100km more than mine, I get this voice inside me that says " you cant let him beat you" Damn u Strava .
  9. Yoh, that's hectic. Think the pharmacies is making a lot of money between March and June every year of the runners.
  10. Rest, now that's a bad word I don't like to hear . But I guess it was prob inevitable seeing as these are the hardest Comrades training months. And having a Wife and Son that was a little bit sick last weekend didn't help either.
  11. Woke up this morning and it feels like I am starting to get a cold. I cant afford to miss a couple of days of training. These are the important months of Comrades training. Any good meds I can take to boost my immune system and keep it healthy. I started taking airmune, and will get myself a B12 Shot this morning.
  12. Don't worry, these things happen for a reason. I am also in for next years Addo. Want a new challenge, and this sounds like a real Challenge.
  13. Yip, it should be working fine now...
  14. I would've been so pissed if I was late because of damn traffic. But I guess that's part of life. But well done on your race as well as your wife's time They syncing problem is a world wide issue. Mine also couldn't sync since Saturday. But saw on their website it will be fixed within 24h.
  15. Comrades is a funny old race. You are feeling like a million bucs @50km mark, but then all of a sudden you hit that wall and it becomes a very very long day.
  16. WTH. Thats some big Mileage. Now i feel guilty for having tired legs
  17. I also enjoy running on my own, but i think the work stress and my son being diagnosed with adhd is maybe also a factor. But hey, training for the Comrades cant be all smooth sailing . Otherwise what will be complaining about then
  18. There is, maybe i must change it up a bit.
  19. These Last 2 weeks i'm going through a bit of a dip in my training. I am getting the mileage in, but its just that i am gatvol. Tired of running all alone and because here in the slowveld, we only have about 3 -4 routes to train on. So its getting boring running the same route over and over again.
  20. Holy Sh@t. That must have been sore. That's some huge screws. I'm sure you can re-use them in and around the house
