The brown stuff is going to hit the fan! Can you imagine the amount of sponsors that are going to pull out of cycling when the rest of the 50 odd riders are pointed out or have come clean???? This is worse than all other doping scandals put together! As a matter of interest, what happened to the authors of LA Confidential? Why are they not involved in this?

Great Ideas but other road users dont give actuially gives a damn about people in lycra! These are the cold hard facts.....Until it actually hits home, only then will you realise that you are fighting a losing battle...Sorry guys, after hearing about my oldest friend taken out last week, I have now officially hung up my bike. It's just not worth it. Yes, I am negative. South Africa is negative. We are going nowhere.....FAST!!! Think Bike, Erecting signs and boards and having vehicles drive up and down is a great initiative....well done....who gets to foot the bill....US...\why? Because it is something that we are so passionate about....reality tells me otherwise.....you are fighting a losing battle.

In all fairness, the event was BRILLIANT. I enjoyed the 96km event. I agree that the taxi's are a major pain. If the event is going to take place next year, I strongly suggest that Metro be more firm, vigilant and stern with them. I always wanted to see what the rest of Soweto looks like and damn does it look better than some of the suburb's that I have been to. To the race organizors and planners - Well done! I give you 8 out of 10 for a first time event. Should you have the event next year, just do a little more advertising inside the township so that the motorists are aware of the evnt. Soon (hopefully) you can have a ride equal if not better than the 94.7! Well DOne!
