  1. Can't use MTB? Is that based on race rules fvb?
  2. ...whee hijack. Was also considering a 1st attempt at junior ironman but was giving serious consideration to doing it on my MTB (maybe with slicks). Do the regulars see MTBs at ironman from time to time?
  3. ...and on the Epic 'Fred' a 30 seems to be the sensible consensus... Horses for courses :-)
  4. Eish...sorry - what's the saying - "opportunity knocks"! Gone with an upgrade on my Air Niner HT. Warranty replacement on the frame so paid in to graduate to the Jet9RDO. Really like the look of those Cube MTBs though
  5. Am eyeing out an upgrade to a suitable Full Suss 29er for next year's Epic. Just stumbled onto this thread and now the shortlist she is growing... Potentially see 2 worthy candidates in the Cube stable. This baby and the AMS 100 Super HPC Race 29er. Which model would be better suited to an Epic challenge? Any Cube agents in Durban?
  6. Tried out eyewearsa.co.za...very easy - decent pricing - good service. Not sure of the extent of their selection but they had what I needed. Ordered my replacement lenses 20/05...received today. delivery fee only R50. Will def use them again!

haha...beginning to understand now why the steaks are 'nuked'! Could it be that the 'gatkrypers' are oiling the chef's too much and consequently a short while later the cooking finesse she is lost!? Blue is the new Rare man

Sniffie...you got lucky (or maybe they saw the 'insider' coming) 4 Sani's in a row now and every year my Steak is way overdone and tough as hell. Our group resort to taking our own steak knives along for the tussle Good Beef - yes certainly. Flavour great - but boy are they destroyed.
  9. Hi Maxxis Still collating? Keen to join. Need a set of Polarised Stealth Black for my Antix. Would you be ok sending on to DBN?
  10. Sounds like you've got the top-end frame there Banna. There's a new one in the Tall Boy spread - identical in all respects ito appearance. Also carbon but heavier. Think if we're going to compare apples with apples this is the model to compare with the Scott 910 (that is if marathon is the bias). Will be a fair bit heavier than the Scott.
  11. Ja...that Scott will be a fair bit lighter. Was looking at the TallBoy towards the end of last year and was a little surprised at how heavy a decently specced SC TB was - even on the top-end frame (C, CC? I forget). To get your SC to a similar weight to the Scott 910 would prob be around a 30K diff on your pocket.
  12. ...and what was with all the signs on the left of the road??? Lots of blokes had close shaves with those! As for the uneven surface...MTB the answer
  13. 2 x 1hr 'opvok' sessions midweek (days rest in between) 2 x 30min core & upper body workouts midweek (alternating with riding days) 1 x 3hr+ ride on the weekend...done at solid pace. If not a Pro - this is all you need in my opinion. Been riding for 4yrs now and this has been my program in that time - still the gains keep coming. If stage race is coming do some back to back rides on the weekends leading up to the event - 3 to 4 weekends enough.
  14. Looking to take the leap from HT to FS next year sometime. Is this Giant's 'top-end' package guys? What would a medium kitted with these specs weigh...yes a bit of 'weight watcher'...sorry
  15. Anyone know a little more about these Munn (Mung?) kids bikes? Googled - but nada! Our youngest is turning 4 and now ready for 1st bike. These look like great starters. Sadly "Ou Boet's hand-me-down" hasn't quite made the grade!
