  1. Hi Hubbers, Yes Cyclists WorkShop is the LBS on Nothumberland. When we are busy it does get a bit messy when they over lap like Sales staff trying to bleed a brake or a machince selling shammy cream. Appologies for any errors that might happen but we are here to help. Lets all work together to grow the sport. Let me know what you unhappy with directly (joshua@cyclistsworkshop.co.za) and plans can always be made to send you off on your bicycle a happy customer. Have you heard that we have just been appointed an Authorized Trek dealer? O yes more exciting news - If you are on the West Rand the best place will be the Ghost Factory Store.Cyclists WorkShop will be joining forces with the Ghost Factory Store to bring you the best servicing and sales there is. Ryan will be my right hand man. He is super excited, super nervous and a little bit new.... So Hubbers go easy on him. This is not just for the Ghost riders but for all the riders - yip any bicycle. Also not to worry the LBS in the NURSERY will be going stronger than ever. Lots to do in both shops but we ask nicely to be patient as we get everything sorted so that we can offer you a better shopping experience. Lets go rip some trails - Happy pedaling Hubbers
  2. Hi, I have a shop in fourways JHB and we Specialize in servicing etc. Can build u a set of wheels no problem. My price on a Hope/ztr (crest/arch) with pillar double butted spokes and alu nipples about R6k but I can build u a set of Novatec hubs + pillar spokes + ZTR rims for around or under your budget. if u went with brass nipples. Nice thing with alu nipples can colour code also lighter. This wheel set would probably be about 1.5kg or there about. Novatec hubs are sealed bearings and replacement parts are super cheap so will never break the bank. I can supply references if u would like. I have many happy regular clients. Drop me a mail and if u would like a quote or to discuss things further. Josh info@cyclistsworkshop.co.za
  3. To keep the running cost down I generally just do a "lube service" on the fork to keep it smooth R200, and then recommend replacing the dust wipers when there is excessive fluid loss or leaking from them. It is fairly common for them to have a little wet ring but it should not be wet and running down the lower legs.

  8. No Clue about leg speed - was doing about 20-23km/h on flats - couldnt pedal faster - was hurting LOL
  9. Next year it will be my fifth 94.7 but my first on a road bike. catch is im doing it twice for charity for the Paige Project.
  10. I didnt do it for charity and I am really starting to regret it cos I have had so much response. If anyone is willing to donate please donate to the Paige Project you can contact David Barson <cycle@thepaigeproject.co.za>
  11. I couldnt get a cleat pedal into the BMX crank so in the end modified a spinning bike crank and axle to fit the frame. 100KM in takkies was not gonna be fun on that lil thing
  12. Hi all, on a previous topic a pic was posted of me on a 16" BMX which I rode 2 years ago. I am sure many saw me this year on my even smaller 12" kiddies bike. This year i did a 4h40 on the lil bike. Well done to all who finished 2011 and lets hope for a faster 2012 Many thanks to Educos (Sponsor)and to all the support and cheering along route - couldn't have done it without the help.
  13. Hi, Here is some info. 1) U know they are worn out when the gold wears off - this often happens cos the foam rings are dry. Also sometimes u can see a change in colour but its not too bad so its fine to use however if u can feel the groves and it is leaking it must be changed. The bushing in the fork would also need to be done. Fork should go to Fox themselves for this kind of service. 2) The top section of the forks are generally about R2500 but depends on model and year etc. thats just a round number for the stention. U can expect between R2500 - R3500 depending on mark-ups and cost of parts for ur particular fork! 3) Yes it is a common thing. Bushing should be replaced every 2-3 services atleast. A service meaning that new fluid, foam rings, and dust wipers are replaced. Hope that helps
