  1. XZakt - Distributed by RFA distributers... 011 805 9951 They'll be able to let you know which shops are supplying. They come in some cool colours!
  2. Do the 56km bored girl - it's a lekker fun route and nothing too hectic!
  3. Thoughts with his family and loved ones - Dave was a great guy and an asset to cycling. He will be sorely missed!
  4. Just a few facts, from a nuetral - I don't particularly like either of these guys... Astana team = split, why else would they drive the pace on flat stage to create a split dropping a team leader who was back by the team cars? And did you not read about Vino's press conference before the tour? Astana has worked hard for their "leaders", pacing etc, but they have done nothing specific for Contador. Lance did not play "the perfect team mate" when the Schlecks attacked and he got shelled leaving AC and AK up the road with the brothers... he even tried to jump from Wiggins but couldn't - he then sat Wiggins wheel for 15minutes resting before Wiggins was spent and he could drop him and chase after a blown Kloden. Nibali showed how not so super Lance actually was riding! Lance is a legend - we all know who he is, what he has done so you can't really argue it. And to do what he is doing at this tour at his age is crazy... Lemond is a chop with a chip on his shoulder. AC is the best rider in this tour hands down. Someone is doping This tours be interesting to say the least! Tommorow's gonna be massive!
  5. Maybe rather split it up... a lot more people willing to fork out 5k for a frame or groupset etc?
  6. Schalk deserves the ban - bloody idiot - don't think we will miss him though the way Brussouw is playing. Schalk shouldn't have started in any case! Old De Villiers is starting to piss me off with his attitude - he's just very lucky he inherited such a strong squad. We are seriously going to miss Bakkies, think his citing is a bit harsh - forwards drive in on Rucks like that all day long - he's just caught jones perfectly and caused an injury. We have no replacement for him! And the Lions were definately playing to get us cards - Sheridan and O'Driscoll in particular causing *** at every opportunity...
  7. Man this sucks, he's such an awesome guy and great ambassador for this country - thoughts certainly with him... Heal up good Skizo
  8. If you want value for money you can't beat Merida, if you want a fancy name and like to throw your money about then look at the others.
  9. Also if all applicants could please submit a photo of themselves on the couch with their bicycles that would be great! Salary negotiations will also be done in smarties for those interested...
  10. Afraid there will be no 2hour lunch breaks In fact we only get half an hour ones - but it does mean we do get to knock off at 2:30 on a Friday
  11. If you guys are seriously keen, drop me an email anyway - we can possibly make a plan on the salary provided you bring your worth. And yes Cycles Africa is in our building... and the Argus winner nogal
  12. Pays negotiable, will depend on experience... Would guess between R7k and R10k for the position. Afraid there aren't any spots in the dtp side as this stage
  13. Looking for a junior to mid level graphic designer for a Cycling clothing company in Jhb - Job involves designing of clothing as well as laying out of final print materials. Preferably want someone passionate about cycling, but other designers also welcome to submit their details. Applicant must have their own car, be a none smoker and have some form of qualification. Please supply a brief CV and portfolio to andrew@ride.co.za Cheers
  14. Hi Racer I'm one of the Ride mag staff that got jacked on Wednesday morning... probably the same guys from the sounds of it - just the other side of the highway. We were riding down Milner from Northcliff to meet another cyclist just before 5am when we got blocked by three guys weilding a gun and two knives just before we were to turn on to Ontdekkers. Apart from the Trauma we're both fine as bicycles are just not worth dying for and we quickly handed over everything they wanted to keep them calm - the scariest thing is how nervous and out of control they seem... I trust your godson reported the case even though he doesn't have insurance - hopefully they catch the bastards. And our bikes for the record are a large black Scott Speedster S3 with Cane Creek wheels and an extra large Bianchi EV4, dark grey with lighter grey decals and full Campy Record... Be careful out there guys Andrew
  15. Always had good service - and nice friendly guys to boot!
  16. Can really recommend the Sigma Karma Pro - lekker little light. Maybe not as bright as the Moonshine, but does the job, is small and compact and the battery life is lekker. Solved my 24hour light hunting for the rest of my life
  17. I find you need very little lube on the road bike - that said I run with White lightening as it does a job and doesn't cause much buildup. For the Mtb I use Motorex - it does pick up gunk, but man on man does it keep things running well! They do a dry and wet version for different conditions. I also carry some wet lube in a nasal spray bottle to sort things out when a race has lots of river crossings. PS: I think Squirt is absolute garbage, used it twice and never ever again!
  18. Arran did my Mtb setup - worth every cent! Actually need to go back soon as I've just got a new mtb and also want to do my road bike as I'm actually riding it for a change. You will be surprised just how off you might be sitting on the bike!
  19. It's shocking to think, but I've already seen a couple of those out and about... some people just have absolutely no bluddy taste!
