  1. Anything but polar, their current products to flimsy and their support currently sucks, I went suunto and did not look back.
  2. Ha ha Ha..... the question actually is what has CSA done for the the majority, which the bulk of the fees??? I will tell you, taken unconsulted decisions which influences us. I will NOT support them any longer, but support any event which is not done under their rules and regulations, but again that is just me.
  3. Again if the changes was made without consulting people which might be influenced by it before it was taken, the legality of the decision must be questioned.
  4. Everybody speaks about weapons here, the best personal defense weapon in the hands of a person which does not considered the tactics in ussing it is useless, and will most propably be used against you. There are numerous weapons which could the job, again as an active shooter, cyclist and blade student, i must say the best combination here for me, exculdes a firearm, but includes an ASP in the top of your leg lycra, neck blade and pepper spray, then the most important of all weapons is recognotion skills. In some instances you could put your bike with all its momentum on top of him, or even go for a disarm, remeber you first have to get of your bike, while on it use it as a weapon etc, etc, etc. Again look at this website http:\\www.amok.co.za and depending where you are speak to Mark or Ian, I have already discussed this issue with them.
  5. Could somebody explain the consultation process which they followed before they took decisions, these decisions should be challenged if the process not acceptable.
  6. Speak to Hilton at Bruce, serious about client service, knows his clients and goes out of his way to attend to their needs. Had good experiences with Single track as well, Bennie is great guy, will always help you with a problem on the trail as well. Hotspot did a good job of fixing wheels for me. I would rather not speak about the other names mentioned, when I go into a shop and ask for a written quotation I do not want to hear the computers are down, what happened to a pen and paper, they lost s client for ever.
  7. Look at the benchmade, serious blades for seriuos business, strongest locks out there
  8. As far as I remember it was not required this year to purchase any license during entry. Be as it may my entry won't make any differnce to them they propably already have enough cyclists riding.
  9. Do not have any knoledge of any consultaion process whihc took place relating to their "NEW" structures, should this not be consulted with the people which pays the fees, BEFORE THE FINAL DECISION IS TAKEN?
  10. I will not be riding the cycle tour next year, due to the fact that I am forced to purchase a CSA license with the entry, WHAT FOR???? Do not force it on me in this way, so much for democracy
  11. I agree a weapon is only one of the dimensions to consider, there are many others, is your recognition skills sufficient, remember an ambusher will always see to it that he is in a beter position than your are. On the other side keep in mind that a predator will only continue with his actions as long as he does not put himself in danger. Again there are many weapons and tactics to consider here and perhaps a firearm is not the right choice, slow access, decision making process not up to standard ect....., everything is close quarter and fast here. Carrying of firearms might just lead to them going for cyclists, becase they have firearms.
  12. Speak to an Amok, multiple opponenets etc.......
