  2. keyword - budget- we all have one - also lole the idea of xx1 - budget = new plan= make my own 1x10 because I like the idea but not willing to pay 11 k so I do it for 2 k
  3. sorry that was the idea It did not load will follow as soon as the bwidth allow it:)
  4. DIY stand done
  5. so there is certainly a gap in the market for single front rings and 1042 casettes yes untill that gap is filled Ill take the wolf tooth option with clutch derailer Train harder en enjoy myself on 1x10 rather then paying for the hype of xx1
  6. my legs went on self defence training they cant be killed
  7. n boer maak n plan ek se
  8. sorry ek het geduimsuig - so ja even better then around 2k - not bad ?
  9. I think wolf tooth conversion to 1x10 is the way forward - no one can afford 3500-4000 casettes man thats grazy with wolf you can keep everything for instance XT and only change the front ring for around R800 and buy a shadow plus or ZEE RD for R2000 so total conversion is R3000 and no hub conversion adapters needed. You can then play with casettes probably need 11.36 at the back and have two front chainrings for flat and hilly applications which is fairly easy to swop when needed. Walla 1x10 for R3000 not R12000 JUTS MY HUMBLE OPINION not for the rich they all go XX1 bling bling
  10. u can get a pony clamp for R250 at chamberlins a few pipes 3/4 inch with thread around 200 bucks , base wood 750 x750 less than a 100 bucks , one piece I have to make myself and thats the base plate with a coupler ,threaded, weld to the plate - could not get a flange So I say u should be able to do for less than R600 a decent stand - I paid a little to much for my pony clamp only to find a cheaper one so shop around I will conplete it over the weekend and post pics, if u need assistance give me a shout ill gladly help.
  11. so I bought all the bits just one short to complete the DIY stand - everything at builders will post pics once done

  23. since I will be doing all my maintenance myself I was wondering when I need new front chainrings do I replace only the chainrings ? No need to buy a new crankset ? Also who would be the best supplier to buy from its 2x10 xt ? I also wonder I have a bb sm 70 which I cannot find online . I asked silverback they suggested I buy from my LBS but I really want to be as little relient on them as possible
