Have a look at 11th and 32nd on Waverly side and Opposite 47 Marija and at 979 Rooivink Cresc on Montana side.

There were a few ways to get up. And that is always the issue, hike a bike or very steep ride up. I was driving past there last week and it looks like they are putting up a fence, but you could always go up to the top by the school. There are a few other ways but have not done it for about 2 years, so will have to make a day of it exploring.

There is a foot path up there. Rode it plenty while I was a student! Awesome training! If I remember correctly about 7km from Wonderboom to N1 above quarry.

Where is the best place to start from if you only want to do a short ride, say 40km from JHB side up and back??

I would like to have some comments on this bike. The XT version. The CF frame, one level up received a good review in the Tread magazine recently, but is this one worth it? R16000 new at LBS, with XT components and Deore brakes, with Alex rims, Fox fork and DT Swiss rear. I like the aggressive geometry and would like to use it for short rides on twisty single track mostly.

A good bike to get into the sport. Give us some details- fork, components, brakes??
