  1. Won't make this year. Ticket up for grabs for start group 5c.
  2. Where is the best place to have a craft beer during the race? I would like to do a sub 6, but would like to stop for a beer. I was thinking somewhere at fishhoek? I start in 5c
  3. Why is it possible to finish the argus on an E-Bike? I thought that you get around 2 hours of battery, and for those doing 4h, would mean they had to cycle that heavy bike for 2 hours in the storm of sunday?
  4. My first sub 3 is now in grasp! And I only started "training" on monday morning and stopped on tuesday morning. So I'm gonna show u all its possible to do a sub 3 without any training!! whohooo! I better hope the lower the pricing next year, else they proof themselves of GELD WOLWE.
  5. Is it still available?
  6. McCandlish does 1KW during sprints. Eskom should get hold of him.
  7. 213w, 69kg at 2:58 from one of the posts here. So I'd say 210W.
  8. Graph does not show wattage, but if you did an average 240W-280W doing a 3.22 then two questions: Did you stop somewhere for a smoke break or do you weigh 90+?
  9. Wow the effects of power to weight ratio
  10. Thanks added some info
  11. Average watts needed on a road bike for sub 3 Argus? 7kg bike, 70kg person including food and water.
  12. I know nothing about mountain bikes, but looking at the 2 pictures I can see why the posters rave about the handling of the Giant (and I'm a cannondale fan), Looking at the rear shock, on the giant its at the crank meaning lower central gravity as opposed to the cannondale design. And if I'm not mistaken, changing direction is what mtbikers do most of the time right? If we were comparing road bikes I'd say Cannondale.
  13. Hi all, Am also interested in a PM and have been looking at Rotor Power (http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2013/09/power-buyers-edition.html) Reason being I want to get my legs stronger. Last season did 12 hours a week training and bombed out in the Argus. I'm thinking it is because I was putting out too much power in the beginning OR I was not properly trained for the group I was riding in. The PM would have told me during training that I was loafing towards the end of the 12 week program. The PM would have told me during the race that I was over cooking it based on my capability. Just a real pity these things costs the price of a new bicycle.
