  1. Ja it's a sad affair hey... Well, I try and get my a$$ to the coast as often as I can... love riding my bike at the coast and also to hit a wave every now and again
  2. Thanks so much for the info... I'll definitely do this
  3. Thanks Blokman, Grootbrak is pretty much right next to Tergniet, so wouldn't be a problem at all for me to get there for the rides. Let's see what gets mentioned on here, but I'll definitely appreciate some pointers on routes. Thanks
  4. Hi all, Just putting my fingers out there to find out if there are any groups (road and/or MTB) riding around the Mosselbay, specifically Tergniet area. I'll be in the area from 26-30 April and was looking to hook up for some rides. Cheers
  5. When lock down happened, I also started scouting out for online cycling apps... I used pretty much all of the free trials offered by Rouvy, Sufferfest, Zwift, etc etc... Found RGT and it was superb, I also Liked their Facebook pages (RGT Users and RGT Events) where all the users discussed their issues and experiences and the events page where people advertised their group rides. Friendly bunch of guys all around and replies to issues quick quick. Needless to say I'm still using the app and met some great folks all around the world as we started with a standard Wednesday morning group ride... Guys from UK, Spain, Australia, Netherlands, Switzerland all join up each Wednesday... we chat a bit on the mobile app... then full tilt. I love this app, not only for the very realistic riding, but also the great cycling community using it. This app to me is more focused on the riding/cycling experience and the realism thereof, where Zwift (which you get free 25km to ride every now and again if you are not a subscriber) is more a game type platform with power ups and all sorts of funny stuff. Just my 2c
  6. The blue lever on my Tacx resistance mechanism broke also. I just took a strong self tapered screw, screwed it into the base of the blue lever where it broke, and voila. Onward and upward :-)
  7. Ja, I'll be there... Looking forward to my first one
  8. Seriously!!! Dis awesome nuus!
  9. Thank you to all involved at the Gauteng Track Champs this past weekend! This event was really well organised with some great and exciting racing, even with a few records being smashed. The amount of young generation participating also shows a great future for the sport! Well done to all who raced, and became Gauteng champs!
  10. I have a feeling that this may be the new venue. Question is, where will the start and finish be? I know there was made mention of this might change
  11. Thank you for the update and posting the event here on the Hub... Might pull in
  12. 4 Years, wow. Did you have to change the kefir grains at some point or did they simply multiply and kept you for this long? If I may ask (surely you use a plastic sieve) do you use a very fine mesh (I received such a one in the starter kit) or a more course type plastic sieve. I find the fine one takes forever to drain, even with the help of stirring with a plastic spoon and information that I have gathered thus far is that the milk kefir is supposed to be like a liquid yogurt, where as mine is more milky again given the fine mesh.
  13. Thanks Pieter, I'll be sure to check it out. This whole concept is new to me but keen to learn more
  14. Do you perhaps have a contact number or address for these guys?
  15. This topic seemed extremely interesting to me and I'm always keen to try something new.... Just the whole aspect of fermenting anything simply puts me in the yuck state, however I can also stomach quite a bit of stuff and stuff, and after reading up on all the health benefits I decided why not. So I went and bought the Kefir Grain Starter pack at Dischem which contains dehydrated Kefir Grains. This this has been going for day 3 now to re-hydrate the grains (each 24 hours drain, harvest and new milk) and get them to produce my Kefir. I understand this may take anything between 3-7 days to complete. Hoping for the best here
