Could we please have an update on when this trail will be open and legal to ride ? I remember reading that it would be opened in June/July is this still the case ? Thanks.

I am going to simplify this for you guys.... I am not going to stop riding my mountain bike because they have closed Tokai. Either they make a plan and allow access to the next best option i.e Greenbelts and Constantia Nek or we will ride there anyway. Do they think all the mountain bikers in the southern suburbs are just going to stop riding for 6 - 18 months until tokai is opened ? lol Desperate times = desperate measures.

Well said Vince. Who is currently building the trails in Tokai ? Do they have any idea what they are doing ? Doesn't look like it. The new snake trails have no speed or flow and are already a mess after a recent re-build. We would prefer that funds are raised and other trail builders paid to assist in Tokai (Jonkershoek crew perhaps) The current setup is clearly not working, it has been years now ! Come on guys.

Hi All Just a warning to others, our car was broken into at the Tokai Arboretum carpark this evening at around 5:30 pm. Back window smashed and bags stolen from the boot. Bags were out of sight so I assume the thieves may have been watching us when we got there at around 5pm. Hope this at least helps others from being robbed as well.

Sad news indeed... Will boulders be affected or just the snake trails ? Maybe the boulders trail could be improved and extended with additonal features installed to make up for the lost of the snake trails? Some of the sections are very rocky/technical at the moment and some easier smoother diverts could be a good idea. Is it possible to start a new trail above boulders to link up one long trail all the way down from that side of the mountain ?
