  1. saw that too but on their new website it has 2015 route, surely they can hire someone to fix that with everybodies R390 they collected
  2. correct, but I see you already solved that. And technically you can have an watch without an iphone, but you cant download and use the ios app if you don't have an Iphone. Oh and dont talk about taking extra smoothies on this forum, someone here might have to report you
  3. pretty easy tbh Do you have the discovery app on your phone, and have you logged in to it? If yes to those questions, then its easy for them to know, since the code is completely different between android and ios
  4. Hahaha I never read this in the rules... No we skipping the maluti the kitchen tea is on that day.... Taking a break after the panorama until lost city. Doing good, almost there..
  5. The bike is still going 25000 km on the clock The broken rims have been repaired 7,75 kg for a size 61, don't think I can get much lighter Unless I get tubbies and dura ace or sram red
  6. if your body isn't use to it , it is possible. Same thing if you are used to riding at 80 cadence, try riding at 100 cadence with the same power your hr will shoot up Practice it, make sure every ride you do you spend at least 10 minutes in the drops
  7. I Think that is inline with the new goals as of 1st of april gerald
  8. probs should be ok for HR threshold but try and derive power from that wont be accurate. Just use that HR for setting up your HR training zones If you don't have a power meter there are always watt bikes and even shops with trainers that will measure power so you can pay just to do a once of test, or do a test and a program etc etc
  9. if the beginning I used to better my best 20 minute power in races, but if you measure it every 6-8 weeks and keep the value up to date it should happen. Also remember you cant take your best 20 minute power if the gradient was greater than 2%. And your max hour power in a race will be less because when in a group you try and recover as much as possible and try and save energy for the sprint. Now on an hour TT you will notice your avg power will be close to your FTP, and when you are in a break it will also be close. Another factor to include is where you are racing stronger at the coast etc. I did the TOGH TT 38 km in 59min normalized power of 332, my FTP is 334 98% of FTP 2 weeks later I compete in the provincials TT and could only manager a normalized power of 326 which is 96% of FTP but now I am at altitude again Then the next day I get into the break and rode the hardest race of my life, afterwards I check my data normalized power of 326w for 2H40 min(which is not supposed to be possible but I suppose I was hanging on to other guys wheels and the fear of getting dropped pushed me past my limits) All 3 of them close to my FTP so I am pretty sure mine is correct for time being
  10. an alloy bike wont make you slower you legs does, yes yes yes carbon is the upgrade, but if you have the legs you can still do great on an alloy bike. there is a few guys riding VA on alloy's In This race there was a young bloke also on a alloy helping with the pace making till be splintered on the last hill
  11. I dunno had no traffic issues we actually had marshals this time Yes some roads are narrow but in most cases the cars just passed without any problems I think I got more out of this event than D2D and the racing was still hard, after the 4 man break formed, we were only ten that drove the pace in the main group. Could only get rid of the wheelsuckers after the hekpoort section. And the group splintered as we went through magalies with multiple attacks from everyone. Managed to finish 8th with Qubeka and Bonitas taking the first few spots. My only suggestion for this race would be to start at 6, which means the slower riders will get less traffic.
  12. basically the same as D2D just go straight through Magalies instead of turning right Strava says 905 but I don't know according to the profile the is no hump before the start of Hekpoort downhill according to them its flat, but I know there is one I got dropped there this weekend. But give or take a few meters, its around 900 and def less than the D2D. https://www.strava.com/routes/3378396 But the end is looking interesting 35 km of gradual climbing followed by those two humps just before the finish will make for interesting racing.
  13. il update it every 8-12 weeks Also take into consideration the ride you did it on. I only update mine whene I do an FTP test every 8-12 weeks to determine it. On a normal ride you might have set that new FTP on a climb, which doesn't count, the guidelines state that he gradient should be less than 2% etc etc and there are probs more out there for determining your FTP.
  14. Ive decided to revert back to the rules, reckon the existed for a reason And the Lizardskin bar tape is amazing, no gloves needed
  15. Ye the first stem was to long, so the foto was taken while I waited for the new one. Hit a pothole and the Rim cracked.. Got a replacement, but it doesn't have the branding on it
