  1. Is anyone looking for a rider to take part. I was on a podium team last year but I'm happy to ride at any pace a team wants to do. Just looking for a ride.
  2. I was in that race and in the break. A more honest report might read A Mylo attack split the field and then carried Kargo to a win. Fair dues to Brendon Davids to bridge across, but that was kind of the sum total of it. When the vets are having to tell the guys to lift the pace you know you ain't exactly riding like Team Sky. But as Donovan said it's "a press release", and press releases aren't too concerned about letting facts get in the way of a good story.
  3. It is a Sphynx. They go for between R8k and R10k.
  4. Beastie - our house cat.
  5. 6 of us rode beside the front 3 males, and the front 3 females. We each had transponders on our bikes to allow 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place to be tracked by the organizers.
  6. What a cop-out. That is tantamount to saying, "What do you see when you come home and find your house ransacked, and all your possessions stolen? Do you see a burglar, or do you see his anxious wife, who's sitting at home worrying that he'll be caught?"
  7. Ok. We completed our second DTCC (Double Triple Cycle Challenge)last weekend. On Saturday and Sunday 31 cyclists rode from Nigel to Durban to raise funds for The Red Cap Foundation. Again, it was two days of big miles, doing 345km on day one alone. Having a headwind for 70% of our time, and getting an occasional rain shower failed to dampen the spirits though. Mr Price KZN provided the back-up, and did an outstanding job again. Included in the bunch were, 2 guys on Mountain bikes, 3 ladies, and one newbie cyclist of 112kg
  8.   If you don't like it, don't buy it ........... simple.
  9. There are rides leaving from Oscars (Hillcrest) at 05h30 Friday (small group) and 05h30 on Saturday (larger group). Both rides are heading inland on the Amashova route and around Lion Park. Mainly consisting of Mr Price club riders. Medium pace, +/- 3hrs with a stop off in Camperdown for coffee. Rides for the following week will be discussed on the Saturday ride. There's also a ride organized by Marty's Cycles leaving Suncoast Casino at 05h30 on Friday going out to Stanger and back. Medium pace +/- 5hrs. Some riders will turn at Balito for a +/- 3hr ride. Bring It On Cycles usually depart from the Spar in Kloof at 05h00 on the weekends for their rides. Depending on the group these can be either medium or medium/hard rides.
  10. Hi, I'm looking to upgrade to a full-suss 29er to assist on the technical stuff and downhills. Can anyone tell me if the GF/Trek Superfly 100 is a decent bike or not? I've heard rumors about the frame cracking and warranty issues. Any help will be appreciated.
  11. 178cm and 67kg this morning. Trying to reach sub-65kg before Tour Durban. I'll have to live on half a head of lettuce per day (all excess visible fat trimmed off), and sweet milky coffee (without the sugar, milk or coffee). That should do it. Does anyone know what's the best finger to use to induce vomiting? I suppose the Garden Boy's would do it best!!!!
  12. Do the right thing. Leave the race.... after all it's only a bloody MTB race. Vote...it's the right thing to do, you have a moral obligation to vote. Send me your entry, and bank account details....I'll refund you. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze.
  13. I got my quote by going online, and filling out the details. They emailed me a reservation. I rang them (help-desk) and they then emailed me my quotation and confirmation.
  14. How many members managed to get a second lap in? Anyone know if Frail managed to do it three times?
