  1. hmm CY plates. why am I not surprised. CY and CF vehicles. the worst drivers in SA  glad you're ok.
  2. Also have an RP23 on my Trance, the only time I flip the lever to lock it out is when I do the Argus
  3. sorry for bringing up this old thread. going along with friends who are into water skiing and fishing at kwaggaskloof tomorrow. i'm more of the dirt persuasion. i see the ski club indicates mtb trails. anybody know what these are like? any other trails in the area? i know about eselsfontein - but yeah - that'll be too antisocial if i leave them at the dam i think... anybody here familiar with the area? appreciate any suggestions...
  4. did you push him onto the road ? the cycle path on that bridge... its kinda narrow isn't it?
  5. Wow that early?! I'm putting together/repairing my old hardtail for use as a commuter. Right now am using the Trance. I only leave about 7 though.
  6. Muchos gracias Hairy! ...I'm doing some recon on google maps right now.
  7. Hi Hairy. I'm on a MTB. Was thinking I can go under the bridge outside the harbour. But I reckon its not really safe. There be zombies in that area
  8. i was afraid of this. its actually a safer route for me as i don't have to go through town/brooklyn, and working at the waterfront/sea point it makes much more sense. haven't actually done the BRT route from the flea market area. gonna have to work out a route...
  9. I got asked this morning for a permit at the harbour? Never had problems before - they let me through after some bit**ing on my part. Started to commute again - Milnerton Ridge to Sea Point. And yeah I normally go through the harbour... after the incident today not so sure
  10. i don't think people are being 'holier than thou'. i get the feeling they just like the same rules to apply to everyone. so in your books, that makes this behaviour acceptable? and sure, it would be nice if they're able to tell their side. but its not like we are suppressing them. if you feel really compelled to, write them a letter and tell them about this thread. i'm sure everyone here would like to hear their side. oh yeah, this bloke races in public where he can endanger others, isn't that public enough? anyhat. nite everyone. hope no one grabs my handlebars at hex valley tomorrow. you roadies/track cyclists on mtbs scare me!
  11. fully agree, it would be so enlightening to hear the other side of the story. but we almost always will never have that luxury. but still, that shouldn't prevent us from discussing the issues at hand, or expressing our views. besides, its more entertaining this way... eish... facts... they just ruin an entertaining discussion
  12. also intrigued why you are so keen on sweeping this under the carpet? it is uncool? why? thats it then. no more dissing malema. or lance. or cycling sa or the ppa. until they or their representatives personally log on here to express their views... yes the 'officials' have decided. and unfortunately it is so. just curious why it is 'uncool' to express our opinion about the verdict?
  13. online entries closed... should still be possible for late entries tomorrow right?
  14. R85 bucks via dealextreme, including bracket. suits me fine. http://www1.dealextreme.com/productimages/sku_26800_1.jpg http://www.dealextreme.com/productimages/sku_26800_2.jpg
  15. yep i think so too! ::waves:: hello bicycle thieves!
  16. it seems their site has been taken down...
  17. exacto mondo! a real cyclist would've made sure these bike thieves were hanged! ..but not before being tortured
  18. my conclusion. dodgy shop... dodgy owner. blaming the staff? that's laughable. he is responsible for his shop/premises. displaying a bike on the floor w/o knowing whether its legit/origins? that's a big no-no. its criminal. in retrospect you should have introduced yourself as an interested buyer, and made a HUGE offer. i'm pretty sure they would've called you. will stay away. be sure to let others know too.
  19. eish. training wheels. normal bmx bike. done. scared of falling? get knee/elbow pads. young'un has to fall at least once.
  20. too bad its been deleted... care to share the gist of it?
  21. censorship ftl!
  22. Oh hey many thanks for these maps. Had some friends visit from GP and the trail maps came in really handy for them. Much appreciated! btw.just curious is there any reason there's none of Lebanon?
  23. My brother's name is in there twice for the 27km. I'm not even on the list. Yeah its a joke, and a really bad one!
  24. i think their random number generator broke down. now they have to thumbsuck manually.
  25. i don't think the results are up yet? those are 2010 results!
