Hi Hubbers. I have just started cycling(5 months cycling and 2 months no smoking ) and although i get at least 4 hours of "good" training in a week I'd like to increase that by purchasing an indoor trainer. I'm looking at getting the TacX Blue Twist bundle from CWC as it falls within my budget but i don't want to mess up my tires and would like to keep the noise level down. So here is my question: Because I'm using all/most of my budget on the trainer would it be possible to get a v-brake type wheel and slap the training tyre on it, because the resistance of the trainer will stop the wheel....eventually, and i don't see it necessary to have my back brake functional? I don't want to buy a 2nd hand wheelset as i haven't seen any in the classifieds that i could afford that would be an upgrade to my current wheels(The only reason i would get a new wheelset is to upgrade). I can get a v-brake wheel from my lbs for R300 and will get an extra cassette at R250. Please give your "experienced" opinions
