  1. Who was riding the bike?
  2. Thanks for crushing my dreams
  3. I have the Flux which is the slightly cheaper version of the Striker and paid R900 for it. Its an awesome helmet. Good ventilation and easy to adjust. I can't however comment on weather there is a better option in that price range as its the only MTB helmet I've owned.
  4. Hey Scott. Organise a date and I'll come help you do the conversion. I got spare Stan's and gorilla tape.
  5. Agreed. Those damn shimano pins are a bitch when you don't know what you doing. Second ride on a brand new slx chain and it was purely bad installation on my part. Now that I have quick links I don't have the bad installation problem....it's that easy. And probably should invest in a better chain breaker
  6. My best purchase by far. Bought a couple after I broke my chain twice going up hillsnacks..
  7. The strider is bulletproof and a monkey can set it up/make adjustments without tools. I weigh 79kg and I have cruised around on it.
  8. My 18 month old is on a strider too.
  9. Sorry forgot to ad that I have the shoe guards on as well. Can the spacers fit under the guard?
  10. Let me know which bike you on and if my ball is heading your way I'll keep my mouth shut. OK on a seriaas note now. Golfers as much as cyclist are passionate about their sport; fanatic bunch of people they are. I can guarantee that the first time a cyclist pisses off a real golfer(not the18 handicap once a month guy) the club will have to choose between the 2 sports. At R300 green fees per game and R10k a year membership fees, guess who wins? I used to be one of those "real golfers" I know how they would react.
  11. I for one would not like an oke shouting "TRACK" while I'm making a put so they would have to ban STRAVA use on the golf course.
  12. So I thought it would look cool to get my pedals and grips to match my colour scheme(green) and switched from spd's to candys. I now battle to get my cleats un-clipped. I have played around with the cleat position as stated on the manual that came with the pedals but am still getting the same result. My questions are: Do the springs stretch, making it easier to get out? Should I just put the SPD's back on? Would my shoes play a role in this? (North Wave Striker Carbon)
  13. Also for hanging bike hooks....
  14. Nice one. I purchased this puppy

  17. The trails are beautiful. If we left out the split to the right of heartbreak hill we would have been fine. I'll deffinately be back. The downhill sections are awesome and flows perfectly.
  18. So coming from mostly rietvlei and van gaalens experience I have some advice for the noobs. Rietvlei blue trails and Thaba blue trails are not the same thing. I dont think I've spent this much time off the bike before. The first 6 km took me just over an hour to complete. If you don't have the skills do the green route or go to rietvlei.
  19. buycycle.co.za used to stock them. I have a garmin 610 now(got it as a gift) so I don't use my phone anymore.
  20. The Wahoo for iPhone 4 includes the HRM and the Ant+ dongle and cost about R600. The equivalent garmin package cost about R300 more than that There also a wrist strap called "Scosche Rhythm" that is bluetooth but the cheapest one i could find when i was looking was $80 excluding shipping to RSA.
  21. Your wife did a good job at sneaking that washing machine in there.
  22. I have the FR610. Great for cycling and running. Not for swimming though.
  23. I got my son a pair of sunglasses and that seemed to finish "the look".
  24. I had the same problem...see my avatar for the final result.
  25. If you find them please let me know. I would also like some green lock-on ODI's
