  1. Stolen: Morewood Zula 2010 When: 9 October 2016 Where: Sir Lowry's Pass, Western Cape I was riding close to Sir Lowrys Pass Village near Somerset West when I was thrown off my bike by two guys. They pulled out a knife, took my bike and ran off. Get further details about the incident in the Stolen Bikes section
  2. I tried the Saguaro yesterday in the "grip" direction it and it works a charm. Should have done that long ago. Thanks for your advise!
  3. Thanks for the reply and you are right - it is subjective and during the research I done so far I found exactly that. I was hoping with the help of some hubbers and people with local knowledge I can narrow the selection down. At least the short list is getting shorter!
  4. Looks like a great tyre that! Now to try and find them ... jeez people laugh at me in the shops when I ask them what 26" tyres they stock
  5. To be honest I only heard about this recently I still have an old Saguaro at home - I think I'll fit the "wrong way around" and give it a test run to see how it goes before making a decision. Have you used it in this setup?
  6. Hi hubbers, The front tyre on my 26" MTB needs to be replaced and I need some advise regarding what you guys recommend to run. I had a 2.2 Geax Saguaro on which I think is a great and very durable tyre but I was considering getting something with a bit more "bite". I usually ride around Stellenbosch and Somerset West and sometimes the terrain gets quire rocky and technical - thus the reason to consider a tyre to take this on with a bit more confidence (ps. I don't run high tyre pressures at all). What tyre would you recommend for this type of riding? Continental X King seems to be a good candidate - or should I just stick with what I know and get another Geax? Thanks!
  7. This is such a cool event. Here are a few pics from last year. Will be back this year!
  8. Thanks man. That build of yours is really awesome
  9. A while ago I decided to give my Morewood a makeover. Over time, the white frame started to show a few stains and pick up some scratches so it was time for a facelift. At the same time I changed the drivetrain to 2x10 and upgraded another few bits. This is nothing as extravagant as the awesome build Patches did but I still think it looks cool. A big thanks to all the Hubbers that helped with advise, sourcing parts etc. Here is a before pic. Morewood stripped and redone the powder coating. I did a DIY on the fork. Tyrone made these awesome decals. The result.
  10. Sorry to hear the sad news. Condolences to you and your family Anton.
  11. I have been lucky enough to source most of the parts I require (for a 2x10 conversion) with the help of some Hubbers and CWC / EasyBike. I really wanted to get a medium cage rear derailleur (simply for the additional ground clearance - I'm not to clued up on the mechanics of the different length of cages) but these seem to be in short supply from where I have looked locally and I settled for a long cage. Its what I currently using anyway.
