  1. Stolen: Adrenalin S8 2020 When: 18 July 2020 Where: Stellenbosch, Western Cape Stolen from public park while kids were playing there. Get further details about the incident in the Stolen Bikes section
  2. Got mine just more than a week ago, auto updated to Ver. 5.00 software and downloaded some watchfaces and widgets without effort. Been using it since and really enjoying it, using it all the time not like my other watches that I took off when I got home. 100% stable, no issues whatsoever, no reboots or resets so far... HR sensor works for Edge800 and Feniks3 simutaneously and GPS distance are extremely close even after lots of hairpin single track. Don't know what people are complaining about. Battery runtime is awesome, doesn't even feel that I have to charge it so far, it is so far apart and I connect it to configure and download enough that so charging is a side effect. Really enjoy the connectivity features with my Android phone, vibrating and flashing WhatsApp messages and SMS onscreen so that I don't even have to reach for my phone. Calendar sync as well. Very smart Android app if you are into daily activity tracking and health stuff, sleep and fatigue tracking... Like the "MOVE!" reminder when I sit at desk for too long... I love gadgets and this is by far the best gadget I have ever owned! Get one! ;-)
  3. The center of the red circle is about spot on the police station... Was it on the race route or after you left the race finish?
  4. Know how you feel... Happened last year at Epic finish to me, worst Sunday afternoon... Hope you have better luck than me though, and get it back unscathed...
  5. Here, have a look, but don't look at my time, it was wet in 2013, with two punctures! Maybe a word of warning, keep out of the yellow line for thorns... https://app.strava.com/activities/73105163 (Last year we went over Malan's hoogte with the dreaded piece of gravel road, not via the N7.)
  6. I love my Formula's, had R1's on my previous bike and now C1's on current bike. Previous bike, around 7000km's on say 3 sets, may not even be that much. Wet weather just chows pads, same as with your drivechain... Over heating causes 'carbonization', Sand them a little to get the burnt spots off. Could be these that makes the noise touching the rotor. Obviously also check that your calipers are aligned perfectly with your rotor and that your rotor are not warped. Not that I have experienced this with Formula rotors yet. If you are heavy, I have a 180mm rotor in front to distribute heat better. I have a 160mm rotor on rear but only 30% braking happens at the back IF you have good traction. Swisstop pads are expensive but last longer, think they were close to R400 at CWC. But I got R99 generics there that works just as well. Hope you get them sorted out...
  7. I phoned them to find out if mine was one of them but it sounds like it is only older low value bikes... So no luck for me... But I must say they were very helpful and phoned back within an hour after they checked for me. Kudo's to the police in the Karoo for doing a good job!
  8. Hi guys, seems if some lost/stolen bikes might have been recovered... Have a look at the article in the newspaper... Not much details but sounds like it is only road bikes. Laingsburg Police: Tel: 023 551 8200 LaingsburgSAPS@saps.org.za
  9. Thanks Frits, you can hijack the thread anytime... But there already is something like this in place it just seems if it is not being used... Have a look at www.nbrza.co.za but thanks for reminding me about that so that I can add my details. I remember seeing this on SuperCycling long ago when I read your post. But I'm all in for your idea on the petition, where do I sign up? Appreciated, Halmar.
  10. Same happened to me... So I share your pain... And I reported mine to the security before 2'o clock and by then there was already one reported stolen, so at least they had to be more vigilant!!! So, now at least three cases it seems... Interesting similarities on specs, coincidence? 29" Carbon frame XT Groupset Fox Shock DTswiss wheels. Let me know if you have any luck please, I'll do the same... Let's hope someone see the bikes somewhere... Halmar. PS. I logged my details and marked my bike as stolen on: http://www.nbrza.co.za/ I don't know how active this site is being used but it may help...
  11. I feel your pain... Still reeling from my loss over the weekend... Let's hope for the best... Halmar.
  12. I agree! They need seeding there... Was a battle to get through the slower riders that arrived early. Luckily I managed to get some clear single track later in the race, but bumped a tree on one corner and nearly fell and then later slipped on an exposed root going in the direction of the single track...
  13. Thanks guys, still feel nauseous when I just think of this... Thanks for the tip about keeping the frame number until I have to prove it's mine, but I have many other ways to do it, including the measurements that was sent to the factory to have it custom built for me. This is the only one like this. Bike is not covered by insurance when off my property unfortunately. Please be careful everyone, don't assume your things are safe anywhere! There were at least 4 "security guards" from the event management company just in the block where we parked, their ops caravan was in the next block with more of them, so I did not even think it would be necessary to lock the bike, just the rubber straps and another quick release strap. They didn't see anything! Apparently there was another person that also reported his bike stolen. Hoping and holding thumbs that it's back soon...
  14. Hi guys, please keep your eyes open for my Sarto... I rode the Vineyard Race at Lourensford this morning, afterwards racked and strapped it up and went to watch the Epic finishers come in for about an hour or two. When I came back, my bike was gone, luckily we put the other one in the back. This Sarto was custom built for me, very large frame, so not much use to most people. And I need it for the Sani! Black naked carbon frame, white decals Fox shock DTswiss 1800 wheels with Continentals, X-King/Race-King XT groupset Formula brakes My 2013 Epic sticker was still on the top of the frame: 614-1 Frame number under BB: 56CFX63 Please phone me with any news please! 082 563 0917 Much appreciated!
