Hey Turtle! We have to try to get a ride off the ground one of these days... We baled this last weekend 'cos of the generally crap weather - hope you managed to get to the dumps? Also no track ride for us this Wednesday as I'll be in Angolsh. Mlvn - maybe next weekend?

We'll be tooling around the Zoo Lake area - checking out the Criterium route among other things (like sources of caffeine) - on Sunday am from 08:30. Meet at parking lot outside Moyo at Zoo Lake. Probably ride for an hour, or so, then a coffee.

You've still got a cool new bike, though! Should post your pics here... Not sure about fixie ride this weekend yet. Will post tonight.

Maybe some feedback... Only three of us pitched (Matic, Mlvn and me) and spent about 90 mins going around in circles. Fairly chilly but good training and a great antidote to work. We're planning a gentle track session every Wednesday afternoon from 4 - 6pm, basically just to get the legs spinning. None of us knows what all the coloured lines and things are for anyway! Will take some pics next week. BTW there's a BMX track there as well - Mlvn's threatening to attack it on his MTB... Looks as if there's no fixie ride this weekend. Hopefully this will gather momentum over time...

I'm running a 44 x 18 (battled on the hills with a 48 x 14 - maybe this has gone a bit too far in the other direction... or maybe it's just my age...) while Matic is running a 48 x 18 which seems to work OK for him.

There are a few things I'm looking for too. Maybe we should consider one of these "CRC-type deals"? Or it might be worth putting in a small order to check them out...

BTW gtracing - cool bike! Hopefully see it in the flesh one of these days...

Nope... picked-up the reference on a dedicated fixie site. Was recommended as a reliable source of reasonably priced bikes but I have no personal experience of them...

A small but high-quality team made it to Vida... Matic and Mlvn and me. Lekker ride on fixies - good knee workout.
