  1. Mandibles - here's somewhere safe... it's a bit of a drive, though... https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=71070
  2. Teak Place? Suikerbosrand? Groenkloof? Some may be a bit further than NF but they seem reasonably secure...
  3. Priceless!
  4. Hey ST - glad it's over...
  5. ...then it's time for a wee visit, perhaps. was there last about a month back? At least now we know why it's so green...
  6. Hold onto that woman, boet! Stunning! We're off to Tankwa Karoo this weekend for most of next week. Beeeeeeeeeg open spaces.
  7. Ah, thanks, hey! Now I can have a peaceful evening without worrying about your website. May be interested in some of your stuff next year, BTW...
  8. Just being picky, but "What is Rainwater Harvesting" is a question so should have a question mark... both in the pull-down and in the page header.
  9. Presumably you know that a TacX Flow (around 3K on the Hub) can be upgraded for about another 2K to use any VR software? I have the Argus, for instance, and it works a treat. The upgrade includes software, USB cable to PC and steerer. Steerer works on TacX software, not sure about real life video but can check it out tomorrow...
  10. Thanks, gentlemen! Will look at the suggestions and give feedback. My son is riding with a Knog at the moment. Beautifully-designed (like most of the Knog stuff) but a bit erratic. Has been in for repairs and still not reliable. Cuts out at certain speeds and on Sunday the sensor "migrated" into the front spokes... I think he paid about R800.00 for it.
  11. Ja, ja, ja... millions of functions and you need the fingers of a concert pianist to use them. Preferably a degree in applied mathematics. And the patience of Job. And if you lose the tiny-print manual you're stuffed... Anyone PLEASE have a suggestion for me? I'm looking to buy a robust, easy, wireless computer with limited functions: Odo + Current Speed + Avg Speed + Ride time + clock. That's it. No HR, altitude, cadence, complex reports, backlighting. I've moved from FLIGHTDECK (hmmmm) through POLAR CS200 (fiddly) through SUUNTO (wrist-mount) to TOPEAK. Topeak was OK but crap mounting and fell off in the 94.7. Thanks.
  12. Tim - the concept worked really well at the B&B. Hope it spreads...
  13. Got notification that they're on their way but with SAPO Track & Trace US for the last 2 weeks, who knows?
  14. Yup, that makes sense! Thanks!
  15. So I'm no engineer! I have an FS with a 140mm rear rotor and a 160mm front rotor. How come? Is it about mechanical advantage?
  16. More Tankwa Karoo:
  17. Call me a wuss but I'm not sure I would want to do that in Joburg at 5pm! You like blue bikes, hey, ST?
  18. That DOES look cool, though. Have you told your missus?
  19. Just sitting there... incubating ... looking lost... waiting for their new boss...
  20. Woooooooooooaaaaaaaaaah! Now that was a TURNOUT!!! Anyway, both of us had a lekker short fixie ride then off to Groenkloof to check-out some bokkies. The Criterium route is around 3.5kms and virtually flat (except for some speed humps that are guaranteed to be a pain next month.) Will advertise the next fixie get-together better next time. Free coffee???
  21. "Found"??? Did TK have anything to do with the find?
  22. Hey Mlvn... nope. Did the Soweto thing last Sunday. Planning Suikerbosrand (road) for this Saturday am then fixies to check-out the crit route on Sunday am. Meet in parking to North side of Moyo's at 9.00. The crit route is VERY short (~3.5kms) so we'll do that then off for caffeine... maybe around the zoo and stuff...
  23. Yarzit guys - looks like HNP won't happen today. Work getting in the way... (AND it's cold in Joburg). Wuss.
  24. What? No holiday this weekend? Or are you all just obsessive? http://cargocollective.com/icarusframes Check this site out for some radical, hand-built fixies...
