  1. Yarzit Broke my front hub (probably a sad reflection on my weight) on Sunday in the bundu bash around Magaliesburg. Got all sort-of wobbly at the 80km mark... Any ideas on where I can get a new one? Thanks
  2. Tokenfreak Pornstar Icycling Nero Starsky Carbon 911 all have to be added to the list of recommended traders... Actually, I think the dishonest okes are HUGELY in the minority. I've had no bad experiences to date...
  3. Hi guys. Thanks for the feedback. Johan - here are pics (sorry not very clear) but it has "SHIMANO 600" printed on front:
  4. Hi Hope this makes sense... I have an old steel Daccordi track bike I want to rebuild as a fixie. It has a Shimano 600 integrated bar and stem. Headset is threaded. Any ideas on where I could get a replacement? I need to be able to change the bars so stem and bars need to be separable... Are threaded headsets all the same size? Do I need any special tools? Suggestions or comments? Thanks NickM
  5. The last OFM goodie bag included a loaf of fresh bread - the receptionist at the hotel really appreciated it; just pointing out that a goodie bag may have value to people other than the recipient; speaking of which: A couple of recent races have included ancient Chinese medicine for sore muscles now available in a handy spray-on can. Problem is they were instantly confiscated by a very important person... so I've no idea if the stuff works but it buys brownie points My favourite is the Aspen socks (when they're the right size). Still have no idea what Aspen does, though...
  6. ... have it on good authority that the Angolan Kaporetto does this to a man! (Witblits, boet...)
  7. Spotted in Jinja, Uganda, December... This was one of the less elaborate ones. Ugandan cyclists are SUPERB at bunny-hopping dikwiele out of the way of motor vehicles. Pavements, ditches... no problem. I guess out of necessity.
  8. I've now used a few. Greatest success was actually with SAA Cargo direct - if you're prepared to trek out to the airport and your buyer is happy to do the same on the other end. It's also cheaper. Cost me around R250 to send a complete bike to CT a few weeks ago. SIGNIFICANTLY reduces the handling of the bike - hence (I think this is logical) the likelihood af damage...
  9. Thanks, Guys... Just saved me a grand! Muchas gracias... NickM
  10. Hi there... Probably a dof newby question, but is a 10 speed cassette a 10-speed cassette? If I have a 10-speed Ultegra groupset, will a 10-speed 105 cassette work OK? I understand there may be a weight penalty... Does the same apply to Campy cassettes? Thanks NickM
