  1. There was a shop near the old Lion Match factory that used to hire out cheap road bikes. I cant recall their name but remember that they were affiliated to Cyclesphere in Morningside. Perhaps try contacting them.
  2. I've got a 6 year old Golf 6 GTI. 140000km and no major issues. The car is only as reliable as the maintenance and care
  3. Seems I'm being robbed. I was told that it is no longer available for reward based on the price increase. Had to settle for a peanut butter blast or whatever it is. Sucked.
  4. You cannot get a peanut butter bomb using rewards any more Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  5. It seems to range. Can be anywhere between 50-150 I would guess.
  6. Sadly I could not complete the ride. Lost a spoke and had to nurse a wobbly wheel home.
  7. The last kit I could find via Google was a 2007 one. Similar colouring but different sponsors. I dont mind if it is old kit, as long as it is comfy and will last a year at least.
  8. 1 of my kits is a Mr Price special. Surely a good knockoff must be better than that at least.
  9. A friend of mine selling the kit for R280. I am going by tonight to look at it and fit it. He is a more of a noob to cycling than me, I am not sure why it is so cheap for the kit (top and shorts). He says a friend bought it online for him and it is too big. Any input on this kit? Googling didnt help me much. It looks like the current kit, but doesnt have the same branding on the back (I only have a back pic). It has "Enjoy life, Enjoy Cycling" on the back pockets. I really don't know if this is a knockoff or what. But at R280 for a kit I think it is worth a look (I currently have 2 sets of proper riding gear)
  10. Durban vs Cape Town CBD is very different. That is what I loved about CT. Very much like a lot of other countries where the CBD is actually one of the better areas of the city. The area I moved to is close to the CBD, but a much better area. Also near Durban's equivalent of Long Street (Florida Road). I am also about 2km from the cycling circuit (a 5km loop that runs along the beach front and in front of the stadium) which is reserved for cyclists between 4 and 6:30 morning and night. You do get the idiots that dont know how to read road signs, but it is mostly ok to ride in. Great for base training.
  11. Dbn CBD is rough. Extremely dodgy. Probably one of the worst areas in Dbn crimewise.
  12. Walking the 3km in full formal gear would leave me wet. It is hot in Dbn
  13. Ummm no. I am not walking directly through Dbn CBD in a tie with a laptop bag. I drive. However, I do get up at 5am everyday and fit in 2 hours of a mix of running, weight training and riding before work. And another 1.5 hours after work a few times a week.
  14. I have just moved house and now live 3km from work. So commutting to work is simply not worth the effort of packing clothes and the like anymore. However, I now use my bike for all my other running around (shops, restuarants etc).
  15. Buying a phonw cash is a waste of money. My contract is R399 a month. Cash price of the phone is R9500. Works out cheaper over the 2 years on contract, without factoring in time value of money, and buying the phone cash still leaves you having to buy airtime.
