  1. The same happened with the women. Ariane waited with Ester when she crashed.
  2. i went back a few month to inquire about having mine taken out. i was told to leave it in unless it gave me major discomfort. would have to be really bad for me to want to go back though all that pain. Was worried about the effects of what would happen if i crashed again, again was told it would probably break along one of the screw, and i would have enough space on either side to re plate it. My plate is about 8-10cm with 9 screws. have don't plenty riding (2 epics) with a few crash's ,no problems yet. Just my experience, good luck with yours
  3. Your not allowed to start without a chip. They check at the start and make you buy one if you haven't got one.
  4. Water point 2 is about 10km before the portage.
  5. Are you riding solo or part of a team?
  6. Your far braver than us ,in our 4 man team we had 7 lights and 11 batteries Used them on full brightness the whole evening except on the climbs.
  7. We must have ridden past each other a few times. Kept enjoying the check points a little too much and then had to pass everyone again . We finished in 14.24 - had the safari braai shorts on.
  8. My work mates tried that. Sadly the south Easter they were banking on turned out to be a north wester . Was the only day I was happy to be off the bike with a broken collar bone.
  9. Oh no what did you bet? His 419 is a 3 min average and at over 3000m alt. Just looking at his number makes me want to cry during our classes, I've given up chasing him and now just make sure I crush Bub. I was over 400 for the first minute and then crashed like an unlicensed taxi.
  10. Does that take give you the average for 3 minutes or you best minute out of the 3. The bike plus altitude centre take the average over the whole 3 minutes. Was toast in the last minute trying to keep the cadence above 90. Averaged 306 but I'm sure when I do it again if I just pace my self better I will kill that . Got a long way to catch trav's 419.
  11. Not many people carry a ten mil Allen key, found that out the hard way at sani2c last year, couldn't even get one at the water points.
  12. Hi Has anbody else had there tonsils removed in there late 20's and got an idea how long before they were able to start training again. Been 9 days and I'm still feeling rather bleak.

  14. bike made it just fine. shoes didn't - needed a screw driver to get the one off
  15. His dad road with us in the sweeper vehicle back to the start, they took him straight to hospital in Paarl.
