Hi Hubbers, can someone give an idea of the road surface on DD? To complete the 400 in time one would need to avg around 20 considering you are going to have proper stops over the 24 hour period. Did munga last year, road surface made 16avg very difficult. What a shitshow. Hoping DD roads are a bit more forgiving?

Cape Epic from 2010 onwards is the toughest race in SA. FC not a race Munga not a race & When it comes to UCI sanctioned races, Epic is one of the toughest races an amateur can enter in the world, facts. If you put the entire world population through Epic and Munga, I believe more people will finish the munga because the epic requires a much better all round athlete. With that being said, I found Munga to be notably harder than the prestigious beloved Absa Cape Epic That settles it then. No need to thank me, Back to work!

Doing my 4th one this year, did my first Epic with the Racing Ralph knobbly Nic combo which worked great. 2016 & 2017 was with the Barzo Saguaro combo which was fantastic. So because of the relentless terrain this year I would suggest either Maxxis or Vitoria, the only reason Im going with Vitoria is because they are lighter than the Maxxis.

Erm "V" , you come across as a bit of a panzy with all this treehugging, human rights political bull****.. You also come across as bit of a d**s, but then again, so does the guy who made the post.. This guy talks alot of ****, but he is also right about some of the things, and we(cyclists) are in a very bad light with the public because of things like this, our roads are not designed for cyclist, so when youre on it, try and be discrete and try not to be a arrogant bastard and act like you own the road! Dude, this might be a bit out of the blue, but youre the first person according to me that knows about that terrible accident! I was there when they pulled the blanket over him! F*cking terrible! Dude i go past there everyday and theres nothing, you would not even know that a 27 year old engineer was killed there... Nothing in the papers, just another dead cyclist.. People should know that a cyclist was killed there, even if they just put their celphones down for a moment, it would help! #raise awareness
