  2. This nutrition stuff is a big big business! Grahame Obree set a new hour record training on marmalade sandwiches: "Instead, he majored on marmalade sandwiches made in the kitchen of his Scottish home. The sugar gave him a bit of a lift, he reckoned, and the fruit was good for him." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/features/3632942/Against-all-odds.html

  11. Hi Loose Cog That is one big frame! Please write an email to Tom Learmont - the author of Cycling in South Africa published in 1990. He knew Bill personally along with all the other big names in sa bike building. His email is tom@discobolus.co.za. His brother Alex is super knowledgeable on all SA frame builders - learmont@iafrica.com. Mention my name - Justin, and you will get a full-on response.
  12. I would never trade my Reynolds 531 double butted steel bicycle made in 1956 for any of those Carbono (and that Look is very nice) bikes... have respect for what you have! Le Turbo and Alpinas, Hansoms and DHC were very well made bicycles built by men during difficult circumstances and if given a chance will become heritage collectible bicycles.
  13. Hey Dan Check with Big Neville at Linden cycles - I managed to get old shimano hoods there. Regards Justin
  14. The only strippers that deserve any respect are those lovely girls who remove their clothes slowly!
  15. I love those vitus bikes - look here for some campy gum hoods - planning on hooking some for myself, maybe we get 2 and save a bit on shipping? it looks expensive but way cheaper than rocking horse poo!
  16. Q If that was mine I'd avoid "over restoring" it - would not repaint....also those campy pista gruppo centrale's don't come cheaply!
  17. It lives in the south of France!

  19. Hey Q Tel me about how the biopace is like out on the road? I often wonder about that shape - somedays it makes sense but on other days I imagine it makes for an irregular spinning motion. Justin ps I quite enjoy the whole look of your bike and laud you for not butchering it into a "fixie"
  20. I use the tufo tubbie tape on my rims - super fast to put a tubbie on and you can ride it right away. Also no messy glue etc.
  21. Thanks!
  22. Does anyone have a chrome plating company that they can recommend in Johannesburg area?
